Meghan Markle’s former bestie Jessica Mulroney shared a cryptic quote about “lies” three years after her friendship with the “Suits” star deteriorated.
Mulroney, 43, recently reposted a video by @WomennSoul on her Instagram Story that showed an unidentified woman delivering a strong message about people who do not see both sides of a story.
“Anybody who believes lies about you, before even hearing your side of the story, was already looking for a way to be against you,” the woman said in the video.
She then asked, “Do I need to say that one more time?”
The stylist did not provide any additional context in her post, but she was infamously caught up in a controversy that caused her relationship with Markle, 42, to crumble.
The former gal pals originally bonded on the set of Markle’s hit lawyer drama when Mulroney worked as her stylist, and they became thick as thieves from there.
The mother of three even attended the Duchess of Sussex’s 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, during which Mulroney’s daughter, Ivy, was a bridesmaid, while her twin sons, John and Brian, were page boys.
But things took a turn for the worse in 2020 when Mulroney was accused of having “white privilege” as the Black Lives Matter movement began to unfold following the death of George Floyd.
Markle, who is biracial, quickly distanced herself from Mulroney amid the backlash, with an insider claiming at the time, “Meghan has forsaken her most loyal friend just to look woke.”
However, Mulroney denied that there was any tension between her and the former Spotify podcast host.
“I’m going to tell this once and for all. Meghan and I are family. She is the kindest friend and has checked up on me everyday [sic],” she wrote on her Instagram Story at the time.
“Tabloid culture is atrocious. It creates lies and hurtful storyline. Stop feeding into it.”
Sources told Pvnew that their friendship turned icy when Markle married into the royal family.
Insiders claimed that Markle believed Mulroney was “benefitting” from her new status, which didn’t sit well with the duchess.
Mulroney’s “white privilege” controversy had “really given Meghan the excuse she was waiting for to cut Jess off for good,” one insider said.
Another source said that they had been “on the outs” for some time, though the “tipping point” was unclear.
“Their friendship is definitely not what it was,” the second source said. “And really, how can you have such a close friendship when one person is basically making a career out of the friendship?”
Mulroney and Markle have seemingly stayed away from each other since, though the fashion guru did make a cameo in the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries, “Harry & Meghan,” which debuted in December 2022.
Footage showed Markle FaceTiming with Mulroney right before Harry proposed in 2017.
“Oh, my God, Jess, it’s happening. He told me not to peek,” Markle said in the video.
But Mulroney notably was not interviewed in the docuseries or even mentioned by the Sussexes despite playing a huge part in their lives at the time the couple fell in love.
Mulroney seemingly responded to her cameo by posting another quote that stated: “Best thing I ever did was learn how to move without the crowd.”
The marketing consultant has made quite the habit of quoting others to express her feelings. In September, she shared a quote about “detachment.”
“As loving as I am, my detachment game is strong too,” read the message, originally shared by Meme account @PositiveVibesQuotes. The post added in the caption, “Detachment allows for less disappointment and heartbreak. Do you agree or disagree?”
