Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott welcomed five kids together before calling it quits in 2023.
The actor became a dad before he met Spelling, welcoming son Jack in October 1998 with then-wife Mary Jo Eustace.
The former couple split seven years later amid McDermott’s affair with Spelling, his “Mind Over Murder” co-star. The duo tied the knot in 2006.
The couple began growing their family the next year with son Liam’s arrival, followed by daughters Stella and Hattie and sons Finn and Beau.
While split speculation started in 2021, McDermott and Spelling seemingly reconciled until the “Chopped Canada” host posted — and deleted — a divorce announcement “with great sadness and a very very heavy heart” in June 2023.
As the pair’s breakup plays out, meet the members of their family.
Jack McDermott
Dean’s eldest child, who publicly came out as gay at age 17, is a model and a San Francisco State University graduate.
Jack has maintained a close relationship with his stepmom over the years, with Spelling calling him “smart, kind, funny, unique, sweet, confident, and driven” in a 2019 Instagram post.
“I never wanted to push my role in his life,” she wrote, clarifying that after many “awkward” years, they found “a whole new respect for each other.”
Meanwhile, Jack has feuded with his mom and made headlines in 2022 for accusing Eustace of “creating strain” in his blended family by making “negative comments” about her ex.
“Up until a week ago, our two families where [sic] living in harmony,” he wrote at the time. “These past few years have been nothing but peace and happiness, and I ask that we continue to try and keep it that way.”
Eustace and Dean have continued showing their amicable co-parenting skills over the years, from their “Ex’s & Uh-Oh’s!” podcast to their joint attendance at Jack’s 2022 graduation.
Liam McDermott
Spelling gave birth to her first child, son Liam, in March 2007.
In 2019, the then-preteen “picked up on” body-shaming comments made about him on social media and asked his parents if he was obese.
On his “Daddy Issues” podcast, Dean recalled telling Liam about the “sick people” taking time to cyberbully him.
Dean and Spelling often post about their kids, with the “BH90210” alum honoring her eldest’s 16th birthday in March 2023.
“Just like that I blinked and you are now 16. Taller than me. Taking care of me in so many ways. Protecting me,” she wrote via Instagram.
“I have to stand on my tippy toes to hug you,” Spelling gushed. “But, you’ll forever be my baby.”
Stella McDermott
In June 2008, Liam became a big brother when Spelling and Dean welcomed a baby girl.
The actress has also shared Stella’s bullying experiences, telling E! News in June 2022 that she reminds the little one every day “that she is the biggest badass female goddess ever.”
Spelling praised Stella’s “creativity and passion” for getting her through “so much,” referencing her then-teen’s makeup skills.
In January of the following year, the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum revealed Stella’s hemiplegic migraine diagnosis.
She told “Jeff Lewis Live” listeners that Stella had been hospitalized twice with symptoms mimicking a stroke that left half her body “completely numb.”
“[She’s] not great,” Spelling admitted in 2023. “She’s still dizzy, she’s nauseous.”
Hattie McDermott
Spelling and Dean’s second daughter, Hattie, was born in October 2011.
In addition to red carpet appearances over the years, including the “Cruel Summer” Season 2 premiere in June 2023, Hattie is often featured on her parents’ social media accounts.
Spelling gave her Instagram followers insight into the little one’s personality in October 2022, writing, “She has the voice of an Angel and the artist touch. … She’s hilarious. SNL watch out. And, has a heart of gold.”
Finn McDermott
In August 2012, Finn joined the family.
Spelling called her pregnancy unplanned four months prior, saying at an event that Hattie was a 1-month-old when Finn was conceived.
“The doctor said, ‘Wait six weeks [to have sex],’ and Dean was like, ‘They tell everyone that,'” she recalled (via Today). “We didn’t wait that long with Stella or Liam. I was like, ‘Well, I don’t want him to think that the sex is going downhill,’ so now we’re on baby No. 4.”
Beau McDermott
Before Beau arrived in March 2017, Spelling called him a “total surprise” in a People interview.
“But we always wanted a big family,” she told the outlet. “I’m really excited. … We need a Sprinter van!”
Although Spelling attempted to convince her followers in 2021 that she was giving Beau a younger sibling, the social media upload was an April Fool’s joke.
