Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s secrecy will never go out of style.
A resurfaced podcast clip has fans convinced that the NFL player tried to “throw people off” of his romance with the pop star before they went public.
In the Sept. 6 episode of “New Heights,” Kelce wore a black T-shirt featuring one of Swift’s exes, John Mayer.
Since the “Blank Space” singer, 33, confirmed in her Time cover story Wednesday that she was already secretly dating the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, by that time, Swifties have been calling him out for the “sneaky” tee.
“It actually kind of worked cause people pointed that out and said why would she date someone who likes John mayor [sic],” one Twitter user wrote.
“We suspected it when we saw the John Mayer shirt on Travis during that episode,” another tweeted.
Elsewhere in the episode, Travis struggled to keep a straight face while speaking to his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, about his dating life.
“Things are not looking up for me,” he said. “I gotta get back on Tinder and show a pre-season sideline pic of me.
“I want to feel those fireworks. I’ve always wanted [love at first sight] to happen,” the athlete continued, adding that he was “still looking for someone to breed with.”
Travis even said he was ready for his own “love story,” which fans speculated was a reference to Swift’s 2008 song.
Additionally, the “Catching Kelce” alum mentioned his 4-year-old niece, Wyatt, calling him “naughty” and “sneaky,” leading online sleuths to believe Jason and Kylie’s daughters knew about their uncle’s girlfriend.
The spouses, who married in 2018, also had difficulty maintaining their composure during the episode.
Kylie, 31, said she “would not ever” set Travis up with a woman since he was “doing great on [his] own” and “had no problem.”

Nearly three weeks later, Travis and Swift made headlines for the songwriter’s attendance at his game against the Chicago Bears. (She has since shown her support at many more NFL matchups.)
Swift clarified Wednesday that she was not “psychotic” enough to hard-launch a first date in that way, explaining that she and the former reality star “were a couple” by that point.
In fact, the pair became close shortly after Travis’ “metal as hell” shout-out in a July podcast episode over his failed attempt to give Swift his phone number.
Travis shared a similar relationship timeline in his WSJ. Magazine profile last month, saying “somebody playing Cupid” helped connect them over the summer after he attended an Eras Tour show.
“When I met her in New York [for the first time], we had already kind of been talking,” he recalled. “So I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there.”
