Sorry, Shep.
Brynn Whitfield explained why she’s not interested in dating “Southern Charm” hunk Shep Rose during Pvnew’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” live podcast taping Wednesday night in New York City.
“He’s not a bad person,” the “Real Housewives of New York City” star, 36, told a fan who inquired about her interactions with Rose, 43, last month at BravoCon 2023.
“I was like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s cute. He’s tall.’ … I think he’s funny and sweet,” she continued. “I don’t think that there’s any sort of, like, IRL connection or whatnot.”
Whitfield said during a September appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that she thought Rose was “cute.”
The communications professional then asked Andy Cohen what the South Carolina resident was like in real life, to which the host responded, “Exactly as he appears.”
Whitfield, ever the flirt, offered a playful response.
“Perfect,” she said. “It takes one commitment-phobe to know another commitment-phobe, right? I like ‘Southern Charm.’ I’m from Indiana, so Midwest and the down south, we play dirty.”
The pair eventually connected during Bravo’s three-day fan convention in Las Vegas, but Whitfield’s interest quickly fizzled. She made it clear during a “BravoCon Live with Andy Cohen” show — for which Rose also participated — that a romance was not on the horizon.
Speaking to “Virtual Reali-Tea” on Wednesday, Whitfield said that Rose reminded her of the guys she used to go after more than a decade ago when she was attending college in Washington, D.C.
“[BravoCon 2023] was the first time I met Shep. Look, I watched like the rest of us. I watched ‘Southern Charm,’ I thought he was a cutie,” she admitted.
“And he was very much the kind that I used to date. I lived in D.C. for a couple years. I went to George Washington [University] for a semester and the Georgetown fratty type? I liked that type when I was 22.”
These days, Whitfield is into successful businessmen — not reality stars, a breed of men she would never want to entangle herself with.
“I would also never date someone that’s on a reality TV show. Like, the guys I date, they own IPO companies. Like, I’m not going to date a reality TV star,” she stated. “Sorry, was that bitchy? It’s the truth.”
“The Real Housewives of New York City” is available to stream on Peacock.
