Meghan Markle could soon be forging her own path as a “one-woman show.”
With Spotify axing her and Prince Harry’s $20 million deal, it seems as though the Duchess of Sussex is looking to explore other avenues of income.
And, according to a royal writer, Markle’s recent hiring of Hollywood agents could take her on a “divergent” career path from that of her husband.
“It is looking increasingly like the duchess has traded their Sussex double act for her own one-woman show,” Daniela Elser wrote for news.au Saturday.
“Meghan — and only Meghan — has a new super agent and reportedly ‘offers have been pouring in’ for Meghan — and only Meghan,” she added.
With Harry, 38, busy working on his upcoming Netflix series, “Heart of Invictus,” Markle, 41, and her team are “plotting her next chapter,” per the journalist.
“It looks a lot like, for the first time, the couple are truly on divergent professional paths,” Elser opined.
Spotify and the couple’s Archewell Audio company announced in a joint statement earlier this month that they would part ways, effectively canceling Markle’s “Archetypes” podcast after just one season.
The statement said they were all “proud of the series we made together.”
There were just 12 episodes of “Archetypes,” which featured guests like Serena Williams, Mariah Carey, Mindy Kaling and Paris Hilton.
The move has since forced Netflix to speak out on its own partnership with the Sussexes, saying the streamer has no plans to put an end to its working relationship with the couple.
A spokesperson for Netflix said Tuesday that Archewell Productions is working on several projects with them.
“We value our partnership with Archewell Productions,” the rep said. “‘Harry & Meghan’ was Netflix’s biggest documentary debut ever, and we’ll continue to work together on a number of projects, including the upcoming documentary series ‘Heart of Invictus.’”
Harry and Markle signed an estimated $100 million contract with Netflix in 2021.
They quit their royal duties in 2020.
