Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie got off to a “rocky start” working together on “Maude v Maude” — but they have since become closer over their relationship struggles.
The “Catwoman” star and Jolie “bonded” while “talking a lot about divorces and exes,” Berry dished to PvNew on Tuesday.
While the 57-year-old did not divulge any details from their conversations, she has been married three times, most recently to Olivier Martinez.
The former pageant queen shares a 10-year-old son named Maceo with the actor and also co-parents daughter Nahla, 15, with ex Gabriel Aubry.
As for Jolie, the “Maleficent” star — and mother of Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 17, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15 — is in an ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt.
The former couple were married from 2014 to 2016 and declared legally single three years after their split made headlines.
Although it took Jolie and Berry some time to find common ground in their tumultuous love lives, the Emmy winner believes their “rocky start” is “going to serve [them] well” as they co-star and co-produce their upcoming film.
“[I am] thrilled to work with another woman and craft a story with our sensibility and from our point of view,” Berry gushed of “Maude v Maude,” calling Jolie “formidable.”
News broke of the film, which Berry dubbed a “Mr & Mrs Smith” and “Mission: Impossible” mix, back in April.
Jolie has since hinted at her retirement plans, telling WSJ magazine Tuesday that she’ll “move when [she] can” because “Hollywood is not a healthy place.”
When the Oscar winner addressed her and Pitt’s breakup elsewhere in the interview, she called her kids her “closest” friends as they all “heal.”
