Elvis Presley’s former fiancée slams ‘garbage’ claim that singer killed himself

Elvis Presley’s former fiancée Ginger Alden is slamming the singer’s stepbrother David Stanley for claiming that Presley died by suicide.

“Unfortunately Elvis’ step-brothers have changed stories and even fabricated some tales I know to be false over the years,” she exclusively told Pvnew in an email.

“One brother [of the three] later created a complete garbage story about suicide years back and it looks like he resurfaced with it again.”

Stanley – whose mother was married to Presley’s father, Vernon – alleged in Amazon Prime’s “Elvis’ Women” documentary that the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll died by suicide.

“He premeditated taking the medications that killed him,” the 67-year-old alleged. “Love, hurt, pain, exposure — he just couldn’t take it anymore.”

Even more shocking, Stanley claimed that Presley “couldn’t carry on” amid fears that his alleged relationships with teen girls would be revealed in a book.

“His taste for young girls, aged 15 or 16, made me sick,” the stepbrother claimed in the series, calling it a “miracle” that the “Viva Las Vegas” singer wasn’t “busted.”

Last week, Stanley angrily denied ever making the comments, calling them “bulls–t” in a since-deleted social media post.

However, days later he issued a statement apologizing.

“I am sorry for the derogatory comments I made in a documentary about Elvis that was filmed last year,” he wrote. “There is no excuse for my comments and I can fully understand why you would be angered.

“I love and will always love Elvis and being part of his family. He is more than worthy of the love you have for him. He loved you. I love you and all I can ask of you is for you to forgive me for my irresponsible actions.”

As previously reported, Alden was just 20 years old when she met Presley, then 41, after she and her two sisters were invited to go to Graceland.

At the time, Presley had just recently ended a four-year relationship with songwriter Linda Thompson.

Despite the singer’s inner circle (dubbed the “Memphis Mafia”) disliking Alden, he proposed after two months of dating. The pair were set to marry on Christmas Day in 1977.

But on Aug. 16 of that year, just months before the nuptials, Alden tragically found Presley’s body after he died of a heart attack at the age of 42.

She says that the pair had “just set our wedding date a few hours earlier on August 16th” and was “looking forward to marriage and announcing our engagement at his last show in Memphis, which didn’t get to happen.”

Alden, who wrote a book about her time with the “Love Me Tender” star, titled “Elvis & Ginger,“ firmly disputes the suicide allegations.

“Elvis loved life far too much,” she noted. “His daughter [Lisa Marie, who died earlier this year] was nearby, my niece was with her, I was there and his father was home. There was absolutely nothing to indicate suicide, NEVER any ‘letter.'”

She continued, “It isn’t true and simply tabloid gossip. Elvis deserved so much praise in his life for all that he accomplished and did for others and this is how he is repaid, which is shameful.”
