Wedding bells aren’t quite ringing for Reba McEntire and boyfriend Rex Linn — despite the country ringer rocking a new diamond sparkler.
McEntire, 68, turned heads on Monday when she hit the “Voice” red carpet wearing an eye-catching ring on that finger.
However, she told “Entertainment Tonight” that the ring wasn’t a gift from Linn but rather an old piece of jewelry she “just found.”
When the red carpet correspondent asked if McEntire was “planning a wedding,” the singer shut her down, insisting that she was just trying to get people buzzing.
“I told Leslie,” she said, referencing her brand manager, Leslie Matthews Duggar, “Imma put something over here, just let everybody talk about it.”
McEntire notably ditched the ring before settling into her judges’ chair and taping for the show began.
The “Fancy” singer has been dating Linn, 67, since January 2020 after running into each other on “Young Sheldon.” After 10 months of dating, the pair made their red carpet-debut at the CMA Awards.
However, they have been friends since 1991 after meeting on the set of the TV movie “The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw.”
Before her romance with the “CSI: Miami” star, McEntire was married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987 and Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015. She shares one son with the latter.
She also dated Anthony “Skeeter” Lasuzzo from 2017 until November 2019.
Despite being married twice before, the singer told Pvnew in October that she isn’t opposed to saying “I do” for a third time.
“I said [to him], ‘If you want to that’s fine with me.’ I’ve been married twice, he’s never been married so if he wants to that’s up to him,” she told us.
“He makes me laugh all the time,” she added. “That’s the best thing about our relationship. We make each other laugh.
McEntire joked that the pair are both “dorky” and have a lot of “fun” together.
“We like each other and we love each other.”
While the pair seem to be happier than ever, the early days of their romance weren’t quite as blissful.
Just two months into dating, the twosome was forced to do long-distance as the COVID-19 pandemic shut down most of the country.
At the time, Linn was living in Los Angeles and McEntire was residing in Oklahoma, forcing them to forge a bond over the phone.
However, the singer said the wait was well worth it, telling us that their first kiss after so much time apart was “incredible” and they’ve “been kissing ever since.”
