Newlywed Jon Hamm said marriage didn’t “mean anything” to him just a few years before meeting his now-wife, Anna Osceola.
The “Mad Men” alum confessed to Playboy in 2012 (per the Daily Mail) that he never had “a particularly defined example of marriage” in his life since his parents divorced when he was 2 and didn’t remarry.
Hamm, who was in a long-term relationship with actress and screenwriter Jennifer Westfeldt at the time, clarified that he wasn’t “judging” people who did choose to say “I do.”
“I don’t mean to say that it shouldn’t mean things to other people,” the actor, 52, noted.
“It’s just my experience,” he continued. “I don’t have that paragon of married life to look at and think, ‘Oh yeah, that’s it! That’s what I want!”
The “Baby Driver” star also told the outlet he had no plans to welcome a child with Westfeldt, whom he began dating in 1997.
“I don’t have a driving force to have a baby,” Hamm explained. “That said, I’m in a committed relationship, and if it ever came up, I’m not ruling it out.”
The former couple called it quits in 2015 — the same year Hamm met Osceola, 35, on the set of the “Mad Men” finale.
The duo tied the knot at Anderson Canyon in Big Sur, Calif., on Saturday, in the same location they filmed the series’ final episode.
The bride looked radiant over the weekend in a strapless gown with a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit.
Osceola styled her raven tresses in loose curls, accessorizing with a dainty necklace and bracelet.
John Slattery was among the A-listers celebrating the newlyweds.
The 60-year-old was even seen snapping photos of the groom on his cell before Osceola walked down the aisle.
Paul Rudd, Larry David, Tina Fey, Brooke Shields and fellow newlywed Billy Crudup were also spotted at the star-studded nuptials.
News of the pair’s engagement broke in February. However, Us Weekly reported at the time that the proposal had “happened a while back.”
The notoriously private couple, who began dating in 2020, have offered very few glimpses into their relationship over the years.
Hamm did tell Howard Stern in September 2022 that he was “very much” in love with Osceola and “could for sure” see himself spending the rest of his life with her.
“It’s good and comfortable, and it’s a feeling about taking care of someone else and being taken care of,” he gushed at the time.
The Golden Globe winner also explained that his then-girlfriend had “opened up the possibility of things like being married, having kids, you know, defining a new version of happiness, life, wellness.”
