Kesha and Dr. Luke have finally ended their court battle.
The “Die Young” singer, 36, and the famed music producer, 49, announced via a joint statement shared Thursday that they have settled his defamation case against her.
“only God knows what happened that night as I have always said,” Kesha said of her part. “I cannot recount everything that happened.”
The pop star explained that she is “looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one.”
“I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved,” she concluded.
Dr. Luke, on the other hand, maintained his innocence in his statement.
“While I appreciate Kesha again acknowledging that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened,” he said.
“I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone. For the sake of my family, I have vigorously fought to clear my name for nearly 10 years.”
Dr. Luke concluded, “It is time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha well.”
The settlement comes just weeks before the case was scheduled to head to trial.
In 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit, accusing the songwriter of drugging and raping her after a party in 2005.
The “Tik Tok” songstress claimed that Dr. Luke — whose full name is Lukasz Gottwald — had been sexually, physically and verbally abusive during the decade-long period they worked together, and that his behavior led to her eating disorders.
The suit alleged that Kesha had been abused “to the point where [she] nearly lost her life.”
At the time, her lawyer Mark Geragos told Pvnew that their lawsuit painted “a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain.”
Dr. Luke, however, denied the allegations and in turn filed a defamation lawsuit against Kesha.
He claimed that she had legally defamed him with a “false and shocking” allegation that he drugged and raped her.
The Kemosabe Records founder — who has worked with the likes of Doja Cat, Saweetie and Katy Perry — claimed Kesha made the claims against him as leverage to secure a more lucrative deal.
Kesha denied those accusations, arguing that Dr. Luke’s defamation case was an effort to silence a victim.
Over the years, Dr. Luke and Kesha have faced several procedural delays and appeals, slowing down their legal proceedings. A trial in the producer’s lawsuit was set to begin on July 19.
