Looks like the Father’s Day celebrations came early for Chris Pratt.
On Thursday, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” star shared a carousel of photos on Instagram from a recent fishing trip with his 10-year-old son, Jack — whom he shares with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.
In one of the photos, Jack proudly posed with his catch while wearing a pair of jeans and an oversized camo jacket.
Pratt, for his part, also seemed to have a successful day on the water, as he snapped a selfie with another large fish.
“The Lord is my shephard. I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me to Stillwater,” the 43-year-old, who is very outspoken about his faith, captioned the snaps.
“Imagine being led to a still body of water and seeing your reflection, the face of one in want of nothing.”
Pratt and Faris got divorced in August 2017 after eight years of marriage. While the actor still has a great relationship with his eldest son, many fans think the same can’t be said for his bond with his ex-wife.
Last month, social media users blasted the movie star for seemingly shading Faris by leaving her out of his Mother’s Day shout-out.
“Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there,” the Marvel star captioned a photo of himself with his current wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, her mom, Maria Shriver, and his mom, Kathy Pratt.
“Especially grateful today for Katherine. You’re a wonderful partner. You’ve provided me such a blessed life. Our two daughters are so lucky to have you,” he said of Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 1.
Not only did he fail to mention Faris, but he also called Katherine, 33, “the best step mama to Jack.”
The apparent diss didn’t sit right with some of his 44 million followers, who called out his lack of “appreciation” for “the one who gave you your first child” flat-out “gross.”
However, this isn’t the first time Chris has been called out online for seemingly putting his “new family” first.
The “Terminal List” star made headlines in November 2021 after thanking Katherine for giving him “a healthy daughter.”
The comments caused a stir online, given the fact that Jack was born prematurely and has suffered serious health issues over the years.
Although some haters accused Chris of dissing his son, the “Jurassic World” actor later slammed the backlash in an interview with Men’s Health.
“That is f–ked up,” he said. “My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s 9. And it’s etched in digital stone.”
Chris went on to say that the criticism “really f–king bothered” him, adding, “I cried about it.”
Meanwhile, Faris has never addressed the controversy.
