Andy Richter had his close friend Conan O’Brien by his side when he tied the knot with Jennifer Herrera over the weekend.
The former “Late Night” host served as the officiant at the couple’s wedding, Richter exclusively told Pvnew at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of “First Time Female Director” Monday.
“I haven’t mentioned this to anybody. Two days ago, he married me and my wife,” he revealed.
The “Madagascar” star explained that O’Brien, 60, stepped into the role after Herrera’s friend had to pull out.
“I knew he had done it [before] because he married our wardrobe designer on our show,” he said. “So I asked him to do it and he did it!”
Richter — who was O’Brien’s sidekick on “Late Night,” “The Tonight Show” and “Conan” — shared the wedding took place at the newlyweds’ home in West Hollywood, Calif.
He also said that the event was “like a low-key house party, it was a nice party.”
Richter, 56, was previously married to comedy writer Sarah Thyre for more than 20 years before their divorce in 2019.
The exes share two children.
Additionally, the “Andy Richter Controls the Universe” actor reflected on his decades-long film and television career, revealing two of his favorite roles in the industry.
“The fact that I get to do cartoon voices is one of the favorite things … just about the warts and all career that I have,” Richter said, referring to Mort, the frequently bilious mouse lemur, in the “Madagascar” franchise.
“That and doing game shows,” he continued. “That to me feels like real show business. Like if you’re on a game show that means you’re in show business.”
“I’ve hosted on game shows, I’ve guested on game shows and it’s just fun, it’s just the gravy of show business because you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m getting paid to go play a parlor game and help a regular person make money? Ok!'”
Other celebrities on the red carpet at the “First Time Female Director” premiere included director Chelsea Peretti with her husband, Jordan Peele, producer Amy Poehler and the film’s stars Benito Skinner, Kate Berlant, Max Greenfield and Xosha Roquemore.
Spotted at the afterparty, which was co-hosted by Ketel One Vodka, were Sandra Bernhard with her daughter, Cicely, and “The Bear” actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
