It’s nice to have a friend.
Lorde recently shared an intimate text between her and longtime pal Taylor Swift, giving fans a rare look into their bond.
The “All Too Well” singer told the “Royals” songstress in a sweet message from 2017, “You will always be imagined in my mind in a rowboat with Annie Lennox floating down a river of cool cerebral ethereal dreams but don’t-f—k-with-me vibes all around you.”
Swift continued, “And I don’t think first week record sales singularly define a legacy,” referencing her friend’s album “Melodrama.”
Lorde, who has been friends with the “Wildest Dreams” singer for nearly decade, shared the text on her Instagram Story Friday in honor of her second album’s sixth anniversary.
She wrote over the touching screenshot, “Taylor was very kind and not wrong.”
The musicians’ friendship has at times been complicated, though, as Lorde once insinuated that being Swift’s pal was like being around someone with an “autoimmune disease.”
“It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies,” the songstress told the Guardian in June 2017.
“There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do. There are different sets of considerations within the friendship.”
While Lorde, 26, never mentioned Swift’s name, fans quickly caught onto her reference and the “Ribs” singer later issued an apology.
“Didn’t mention taylor, but regardless, i f–ked up & that was really insensitive. i’m sorry,” she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
It is unclear just how close Swift and Lorde are currently. The “Bad Blood” singer has not publicly returned the New Zealand singer’s love online, but she may be too busy with her Eras tour.
Swift, 33, is currently three months into her eight-month-long tour and is performing next in Minneapolis, Minn., on June 23.
The “Blank Space” singer was also recently in a short-lived romance with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy following her breakup with Joe Alwyn in April.
