Pete Davidson has been charged with reckless driving after crashing a car into a Beverly Hills home earlier this year, Pvnew can /confirm/i.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office slapped the former “Saturday Night Live” star with one misdemeanor count Friday, three months after the accident took place.
His arraignment is scheduled for July 27.
“We believe that Mr. Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which ultimately resulted in his involvement in a serious collision into a home,” a spokesperson for the DA’s office tells Pvnew.
“Luckily, no one was seriously injured as a result of this collision. We know that reckless driving can have devastating consequences.”
Davidson’s rep didn’t immediately return Pvnew’s request for comment.
TMZ was first to report the news of the charge.
In March, Davidson, 29, had been driving a Mercedes-Benz at a reportedly “high rate of speed” when the car — in which his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, was a passenger — jumped a curb, hit a fire hydrant and skidded across a front lawn before slamming into the corner of the home.
Photos of the aftermath revealed one corner of the house had been pushed inward, while the front left corner of the car was bashed in by the impact.
Dressed in a North Face puffer, Davidson appeared pale while talking to police officers.
The “Bodies Bodies Bodies” co-stars-turned-couple walked away unharmed and issued an apology to the homeowners, who declined to file a lawsuit against them.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Davidson, who recently made headlines for leaving PETA an explicit voicemail after the animal advocacy group called him out for buying a dog for his mom from a pet store.
“My mom’s f–king dog who is 2 years old died a week before, so we’re all so sad, so I had to get a specific dog,” he said in the voicemail, obtained by Pvnew, adding that the dog was actually for his mother.
“So why don’t you do your research before you f–king create news stories for people because you’re boring.”
The “Bupkis” star concluded his call by telling PETA, “F–k you, and suck my d–k.”
Davidson later calmed down and told TMZ that his anger was due to the grief of losing their late pup, Henry.
“It was a poor choice of words,” he said. “I shouldn’t have said what I said, but I am not sorry for standing up for myself and my family.”
