Tiffany Haddish was arrested for DUI early Friday morning in Beverly Hills, Calif., hours after performing at a comedy show on Thanksgiving, Pvnew can /confirm/i.
“We responded to a call of a vehicle on the roadway at 5:45 this morning,” a watch commander for the Beverly Hills Police Department tells us, noting that officers were told the driver was “asleep behind the wheel.”
We’re also told that Haddish’s car was “stopped in lanes of traffic” and not pulled over to the side, meaning that any vehicles that were driving in the area at that time would have had to go around her car.
It is unclear who placed the call to police and whether it was one of the other drivers on the road.
The watch commander notes, however, that there were “no traffic collisions.”
Haddish’s condition at the time of her arrest is unclear, but the BHPD spokesperson says, “The investigation led us to arrest her for a DUI.”
“She’s being booked at our Beverly Hills police jail,” the watch commander adds, noting that the “Girls Trip” star is still in custody. “She will be released later this afternoon.”
According to a video obtained by TMZ, Haddish, 43, appeared cooperative when police put her in handcuffs and walked her to the back of their vehicle.
She was seen wearing a floral red and white blouse, black leggings and black sneakers.
Per a press release, Haddish was scheduled to perform at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood Thursday for its 43rd consecutive annual free Thanksgiving feast alongside Tim Allen, Paul Rodriguez, Alonzo Bodden, Kira Soltanovich and Tom Dreesen.
It is unclear whether the “Night School” star stayed out late with her fellow comics after their sets.
Her reps did not immediately return Pvnew’s request for comment.
Haddish has been arrested for a DUI after falling asleep at the wheel once before.
In January 2022, the “Haunted Mansion” star was booked in Georgia after cops received a call that a driver was dozing off on the road.
Police told Pvnew at the time that Haddish’s vehicle was pulled into the yard of a local residence.
Per TMZ, officers believed that the stand-up comic had been under the influence of marijuana.
Haddish later joked about the ordeal during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
“I can say this, Jimmy … I’ve been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man,” she told Jimmy Fallon a few weeks after her arrest, “and God went ahead and sent me four … in uniform.”
