Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin announced their engagement nearly a year after the actor popped the question.
The couple, who have been together since 2018, revealed the news Thursday on Instagram with posts of them dolled up in full bride and groom attire for V magazine’s Fall 2023 cover.
Sprouse, 30, said in their interview, which was conducted by his twin brother Cole, that he proposed back in September.
“We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement,” he said
Though they kept details of the proposal under wraps, the pair revealed they will tie the knot in the Victoria’s Secret model’s home country of Hungary with Cole serving as best man.
Palvin, 29, said she has no nerves about the upcoming wedding.
“I think the engagement stressed me more than the wedding,” she admitted. “I mean, a man has time to prepare for the proposal—Dylan kept the ring for seven months before he asked the question—but for me, it was right then and there.
“I knew since we started dating that I want to marry him, but it’s a big decision.”
Dylan, however, said there’s one particular part about the wedding he’s been stressing over.
“Frankly, it’s about the first dance. I’m nervous about a choreographed dance,”
“I’m not a good dancer,” he added.
Dylan and Palvin began dating in 2018 after the “Suite Life of Zack & Cody” actor slid into the model’s DMs.
“I ghosted him for six months,” Palvin admitted.
When she was finally ready to hang out, she reached out to the actor, who was about to head to China to film a movie for six months.
“I was like, ‘Look, you picked the worst possible time,'” Dylan told his fiancée, at the time.
Palvin was convinced it may have been fate since she planned on being in China for a campaign around the same time — until she later found out her trip was canceled.
The “Big Daddy” actor offered to fly Palvin to join him during filming.
He told her, “Why don’t we jump out on a romantic limb and just do what we were planning to do anyway? I’ll fly you out and we can hang out in Beijing.”
The model swiftly responded, “I would love that, but I’ll buy my own ticket.”
Palvin also revealed how the couple bonded over their love for the anime “Naruto” and the moment she “fell in love.”
She said her fiancé did an impersonation of their favorite character Akamaru and filmed him in slow motion as he jumped and turned in the air to land on the bed.
“It’s my favorite video,” the bride-to-be said.
Rumors of their engagement first surfaced in March when the model was spotted “showing off her ring” at the Mammoth Film Festival.
While the duo never confirmed the gossip, Palvin admitted she was ticked off for not being able to share the news herself.
“That really annoyed me because I knew we were building this story up,” she said.
“So, I’m very happy that we ended up doing it our way.”
