Elinor “Ellie” Williams is devastated over the untimely death of her father, Treat Williams.
“This is a pain I have never felt,” the actress wrote over an old photo of her late dad on her Instagram Story Wednesday. “I am absolutely shattered.”
Ellie continued, “Thank you to everyone who has sent messages and kept our family in your hearts during this terrible heartbreak.”
Treat was killed in a motorcycle accident in Vermont on Monday. He was 71.
More gruesome details about the tragic incident were disclosed Wednesday, with a witness revealing that they saw the “Hair” actor “go flying through the air.”
“He was totally alert, answering questions,” Matt Rapphahn, the owner of Long Trail Auto, which is adjacent to the crash site, also told the Daily Mail.
Treat was reportedly transported to Albany Medical Center in New York shortly after, where he was pronounced dead.
It appears that the “Everwood” alum and his daughter shared a close bond.
Just last week, Treat posted a photo of Ellie on his Instagram and captioned it, “I miss you daughter ❤️❤️❤️,” to which she replied in the comments, “Thanks dad I love you ❤️.”
Aside from Ellie, Treat was also survived by his son, Gill Williams, whom he shared with wife Pam Van Sant. The actor has not yet spoken on his father’s passing.
However, Ellie gave some insight into how the family is coping with the tragic loss.
She also shared on her Instagram Stories Wednesday that they are soaking in the beautiful countryside of what appears to be Vermont.
Ellie wrote over a photo of a massive field, “We’re home, dad.”
Treat’s final Instagram posts showed the “Chesapeake Shores” star enjoying the great outdoors.
He often gave his social media followers a peek into his quiet life in Manchester, Vt., as he documented the scenic views at his countryside farm.
Several stars who worked alongside Treat recently took to social media to honor him.
“I’m in shock! RIP Dear Treat. My condolences to Pam, Gilles, Ellie and the family. A wonderful actor and friend,” Kim Cattrall tweeted alongside a photo of them acting together in the 1999 movie “36 Hours to Die.”
Matt Bomer – who played Treat’s son in “White Collar” – captioned a photo of his TV dad on Monday, “This is a tough one, and I don’t like doing this on social media, but I want to share what an absolute treasure Treat Williams was- both as an actor and a person.”
