Khloé Kardashian admits she doesn’t have a “complete bond” with her 9-month-old son, Tatum, whom she welcomed via surrogate.
During Thursday’s episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” the reality star confessed to mom Kris Jenner that she feels guilty for not sharing the same early connection with Tatum that she had with True after birthing her in 2018.
“The connection… took days with True. With him, it’s taking months and we still don’t have a complete bond,” she admitted.
Kardashian – who shares her two kids with serial cheater ex Tristan Thompson – added that having Tatum was a “different experience.”
“I don’t treat him differently, just question myself sometimes,” she clarified.
Kardashian, 38, revealed the lingering shame as Jenner gently listened.
“I’m very kind to everyone else, I’m just not very kind to myself,” she said. “But being a mom is truly one of the most magical experiences ever.”
Jenner, 67, then stepped in to reassure her daughter that she’s doing just fine, calling her “attentive” and “mother of the year.”
The Good American co-founder’s vulnerable confession came shortly after she had a similar conversation with sister Kim Kardashian during last week’s Season 3 premiere.
“I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby. I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it,” she told Kim, whose youngest kids with ex Kanye West – Chicago and Psalm – were born via surrogacy.
“I take the baby and I go to another room and you’re sort of separated. It’s such a transactional experience ’cause it’s not about him. It’s a mind f–k. It’s really the weirdest thing.”
Khloé has walked through motherhood with her newborn solo as her romantic relationship with Thompson ended amid yet another cheating scandal.
The former flames were first romantically linked in 2016. They were going strong until Thompson cheated on Khloé in 2018 when she was pregnant with True.
They powered through the scandal but called it quits in 2019 when news broke that Thompson kissed Kylie Jenner’s former best friend, Jordyn Woods, at a party.
Khloé and Thompson rekindled their love briefly in 2020 and kept tight-lipped on news that they were secretly expecting another child via surrogacy.
But in December 2021, Thompson made headlines again after a DNA test revealed he had fathered a baby with another woman, Maralee Nichols.
Khloé and Thompson have since been separated despite rumors she took him back yet again.
“Stop pushing this narrative. It’s tiring. But I suppose You guys will continue the narrative you want regardless of what I say so what’s the point,” she responded to a troll on Instagram.
