Tristan Thompson finally apologized to Kylie Jenner for ruining her friendship with Jordyn Woods after he cheated on Khloé Kardashian with the influencer in 2019.
“I wanted to talk to you. I think it’s been long overdue,” the NBA player — who shares daughter True, 5, and son Tatum, 1, with Kardashian — told Jenner in Thursday’s episode of “The Kardashians.”
“It really bothers me because we’ve always had such a dope relationship, and I feel like everyone got affected differently, you know? But I think you were affected the most by a situation with, ya know, losing a sister basically,” he continued.
Thompson, 32, acknowledged that Woods, 26, was “a big part” of Jenner’s life and said he understands how much she meant to the Kylie Cosmetics founder, also 26.
“You guys were two peas in a pod, so the fact that I put myself in that situation that wasn’t right and wasn’t smart and made it tough for you and Khloé,” he said. “Because at the end of the day, you have your best friends and then you have your sister who you love more than anything else, so it’s 100 percent on me.”
Thompson said he was “sorry” and that he felt “bad about it.”
“The fact that I came with my poor decision and being a f–king idiot and just being young and stupid, I wanted to say I’m sorry again for that,” Thompson, who was 27 at the time of the scandal, added.
Jenner thanked the Cleveland Cavaliers star for admitting his mistakes and even said that the end of her friendship with Woods wasn’t the worst thing to happen.
“I think I was so dependent with Jordyn that I could have never imagined my life without her,” she reflected. “We probably would have still been living together, and I think she needed to grow without me, I needed to grow without her. But, you know, Jordyn and I are cool now.”
The Khy founder shared that she and Woods still “talk” and “catch up” before Thompson asked her to let her pal know that he had apologized.
“She went through a lot, too, and probably gave her a lot of flak, so I’m the reason why that relationship went a different direction,” he confessed.
The athlete called himself a “f–king idiot,” to which Jenner agreed, “You do some dumb s–t.”
“I think you have such a good heart and good energy and, like, to know you is to love you — your spirit and everything. So it is confusing,” she said. “‘Cause some of the s–t you do is really f–king crazy.”
Thompson admitted he was “selfish” and did not have an understanding of “good people.”
“Gotta grow up,” he said of himself.
In a confessional, the baller explained that he wanted to hold himself accountable and reiterated his hope that Jenner would relay his message of regret to Woods.
“I wanna gain back the respect of my family,” he said. “So that’s what I’m just trying to do one day at a time.”
While Jenner forgave the NBA champion for tearing apart her friendship with Woods, she admitted that it was hard to look past him hurting Kardashian, 39, several times — not just with his Woods scandal but also when he fathered another child with Maralee Nichols while planning to have his second baby with the Good American co-founder.
“But I want to move on from that,” the Kylie Cosmetics founder said, to which Thompson promised to continue to prove he is worthy of forgiveness.
“I just want the best for Khloé,” Jenner added. “She’s the most magical person on the planet, as I’m sure you know, and she just deserves the absolute best.”
Thompson and Jenner ended their conversation with a hug and said they love each other.
The serial cheater hooked up with Woods at a house party in 2019, which ultimately led to her falling out with Jenner.
However, the onetime BFFs have seemingly buried the hatchet and even reunited in July of this year. They were also seen hanging out during New York Fashion Week in September.
Meanwhile, Kardashian shared in Thursday’s episode that she has forgiven Woods, too, and continues to amicably co-parent with Thompson despite his past infidelities.
