Heather Rae Young is shutting down the mom-shamers accusing her of favoring her 4-month-old son, Tristan, over her stepchildren, Taylor, 12, and Brayden, 7.
The “Selling Sunset” star claimed she receives questions and sarcastic comments about the whereabouts of husband Tarek El Moussa’s two other kids — from his previous marriage to Christina Hall — when she posts about their infant on social media.
“Taylor and Brayden are in school all day, and I’m home with Tristan. I can capture moments with Tristan easily,” she told Today, adding that El Moussa and Hall share 50/50 custody.
Young also said that the older children are also “busy with sports and tutoring.”
“They always have something going on. I blink and it’s 8 o’clock at night,” she continued. “So when we’re all together, the last thing I’m doing is standing around taking photos with all three kids.”
The “Flipping El Moussas” star, 35, also noted that her stepdaughter, Taylor — who made an appearance in “Selling Sunset” Season 6 — doesn’t always want her picture shared online.
“She’s a teenager now and she’ll be like, ‘I don’t love my hair in that picture. Please don’t post that one,'” Young said.
The TV personality’s comments come months after she gushed about her close bond with her stepchildren in January.
“I met Tay when she was a little girl and the second I met her, I knew my life was going to change. She melted my heart. She opened her heart to me day one of meeting her. There was never an ‘awkward’ phase for us,” Young shared on Instagram.
“Not everyone can understand the close relationship I have with the kids & that’s fine, all that matters is how we feel. The kids made me want to have kids, I love my role as their bonus mom ❤️.”
Since welcoming her first child with El Moussa, 41, in January, Young has also faced criticism from fans for posting about Tristan taking his first flight aboard a private jet.
