Kel Mitchell gave fans a health update following his emergency hospitalization this week.
“I’m good. I’m here. I’m smiling,” the “Good Burger” star began in a video posted on Instagram early Saturday.
He then recalled, “On Tuesday, I was shopping while suddenly the whole room started spinning.”
Mitchell, 45, said he assumed he was dehydrated, so he got some food and water.
“When I did that, the whole right side of my arm and my leg was numb, followed by me not being able to swallow — and that’s when I panicked,” he continued.
Mitchell said he immediately decided to drive himself to the hospital. once he arrived, he became more concerned after he failed an arm-and-leg mobility test.
The Nickelodeon alum said he took a series of tests, including a CT scan and EKG, and said he found out his health issues stemmed from a prior injury he sustained.
“What we feared wasn’t what it was. It was actually a bulging disc I had from a prior injury pressing up against the nerve mimicking all those symptoms that I was going through,” he explained.
The comedian concluded his video by thanking God, his family, friends and fans for all of the support he received amid his hospital visit.
In his caption, Mitchell wrote, “For those curious about recent events and my well-being, appreciate the concern and sending love your way. This should bring some clarity.” He added the Bible verse 3 John 1:2.
Mitchell briefly addressed his health scare for the first time in an Instagram post on Thursday.
“Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time,” he said in a screenshot of a written statement at the time.
“The scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family.”
He concluded, “Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you.”
Following Mitchell’s update, his longtime colleague and friend Kenan Thompson took to Instagram to share snaps of the pair rocking their “Good Burger 2” costumes from their upcoming film’s set.
“Glad my bro is feelin better!!! Double the trouble, double the patties, double the fun!!
