Fashion legend Donna Karan hosted a glittering line-up to celebrate ABC News’ resident medical expert Dr. Jennifer Ashton’s new wellness magazine Thursday night.
Karan, 74, was the life of the soul of the party as she told Pvnew her plans for de-cluttering her life and hopes for opening a boutique-style hostel chain.
“I just need some clothes to roll up and my yoga mat!” she said.
She threw a summer bash — complete with spicy mojitos — for guests including NYC Mayor Eric Adams and Susan Lucci on the sprawling terrace at her husband Stephen Weiss’ gallery in the West Village.
Dr. Jen — the ABC News chief medical correspondent and renowned ob-gyn who is wed to TV exec Tom Werner, who also owns Red Sox Pittsburg Penguins and Liverpool football — is spearheading Better, a new magazine where she dishes straight talk about women’s health and wellness.
And she was also joined by Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin, whose on-field cardiac arrest on live TV back in January shook the world. But the 25-year-old, who recently made his return to the NFL, looked in fine fettle.
“Good Morning America” anchors Eva Pilgrim and Rebecca Jarvis were there alongside ABC News President Kim Godwin, and American Heart Association CEO Nancy Brown and Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grosbec.
Better is on newstands Friday. Dr Jen said: “Inside I have everything on sleep, [ob-gyn] issues, weight loss drugs, you name it! Really like the deep dives that I love doing with people.”
When she broke the news of the new mag on Instagram, colleagues were quick to comment on the post as Ginger Zee told her: “This is huge! Congrats.”
Deborah Roberts left several clapping hand emojis on the post, and Rebecca Jarvis said: “Huge congrats!!! Can’t wait to read.”
