Maybe they should’ve said no.
Kim Kardashian tapped Patrick and Brittany Mahomes along with their children, 2-year-old Sterling and 11-month-old Bronze, for Skims’ new holiday campaign — and Taylor Swift obsessive Dave Portnoy is not happy.
The Barstool Sports owner blasted the retired soccer player for working with Kardashian amid her new friendship with Swift, who is dating Mahomes’ teammate Travis Kelce and has feuded with Kardashian and ex Kanye West for years.
“We loved shooting for Skims as a family and had the best time on set,” Brittany said in a press release for the brand. “The matching sets and prints are so adorable and cozy. Skims will be a staple for our entire family for the holidays and beyond.”
Posting the ads on his Instagram Story, Portnoy wrote, “F—k that traitorous piece of s—t Brittany Mahomes,” even adding vomiting emojis over another image from the campaign.
He also shared a paparazzi snap of Mahomes out with the songstress, Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne and Sophie Turner with an X drawn over the WAG.
In an “emergency press release” filmed selfie-style during a flight, Portnoy said, “What the f—k? I was enraged.”
Added the media mogul, “I will never f—king forgive that rat, she should’ve gone to jail for that. Yeah, I freaked the f—k out, all Swifties should freak the f—k out. We gotta protect mother.”
Swift and West’s tension dates back to the 2009 VMAs, during which the rapper stormed the stage as the “You Belong With Me” singer accepted the award for Best Female Video; West claimed Beyoncé was the category’s rightful winner, and the embarrassing moment went on to inspire Swift’s 2010 track “Innocent.”
By 2015, it seemed the duo had made amends, with Swift even presenting West with the Vanguard Award at that year’s VMAs — but the following year, he referenced her in his “Life of Pablo” song “Famous,” rapping, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous.”
After Swift vehemently denied approving the mention, as West claimed she had, Kardashian shared footage on Snapchat of a phone call between the two musicians in which the songstress appeared to OK the lyrics; in 2020, a longer version of the same conversation leaked, proving Kardashian’s clips had been edited and thus vindicating Swift.
While it seemed like Kardashian and Swift had mended fences in the wake of her divorce from West, with reports circulating that the reality star would attend an Eras Tour concert, Portnoy has continued to hold a grudge.
“If I were Taylor, I would have security waiting at the entrance and I would throw handcuffs on [Kim] and drag her to jail,” he told Pvnew exclusively over the summer.
In fact, Portnoy became a dedicated Swiftie in the wake of the phone call, saying it was “not right” that the public was “crucifying” the pop star due to “edited” footage.
Other Swifties backed up Portnoy’s sentiments in Mahomes’ comment section, with one writing, “Promoting skims while being friends with Taylor doesn’t sit right with me.” Another said, “oh… the partnership is questionable,” while a third wrote, “100% never supporting anything a Kardashian does. And Kim is so desperate to get at Taylor, it’s laughable.”
While Swift has been seen attending games and enjoying nights out with Mahomes in recent weeks, her Eras Tour resumes in Argentina tonight; boyfriend Kelce is slated to make an appearance in the audience.
It remains to be seen whether Brittany will be supporting her new bestie at a show, or if they can smooth things over with their new secret handshake at the next Kansas City Chiefs game.
