You can’t escape Jeremy Allen White.
There he is, spread-eagled across billboards (and all over social media) in Soho in his NSFW Calvin Klein advertisement.
He was everywhere in the press this past week after the 32-year-old actor and his hit series “The Bear” won big at the Golden Globes, taking home best actor, actress (Ayo Edebiri) and series in the Musical or Comedy category.
And his love life is fodder for gossip sites, since his shock split from his wife of and new romance with Spanish singer Rosalía.
He’s also poised to win his first Emmy Monday, for his turn as brooding chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto in the FX show.
“I think he’s the next movie star of our generation,” a senior Hollywood source told Pvnew. “He’s got a bit of a James Dean vibe, but there’s something very sweet and endearing about him — you just want to watch him.”
But a source who knows White and his estranged wife, Addison Timlin, with whom he shares two young daughters, told Pvnew that all that attention may have come at a price.
“If you are in a relationship and then one person changes, or gains success, sometimes that can be difficult for both parties,” the source said.
Just like his moody, brooding character, White chain-smokes and has a fractured family. Amid his break-up from Timlin, he has to attend two court-ordered Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week on top of therapy sessions, and has to test sober before seeing his daughters, Ezer, 5, and Dolores Wild, 3.
As his career soars, White is also currently on the big screen in “The Iron Claw,” playing opposite Zac Efron in the tragic real-life story of the Von Erich wrestling brothers.
Following his Golden Globe win — the actor’s second in as many years — it may seem like White has come out of nowhere to some viewers, but it’s been decades of hard work for the actor who, at 5-foot-seven, uses Internet meme parlance to describe himself as a “short king.”
Before “The Bear,” White was best known for “Shameless” on Showtime, playing Phillip “Lip” Gallagher, a genius who couldn’t shake his down-and-out background, for 10 years.
“It’s all been a build,” said one industry insider who knows White well. “He worked really hard for a long time. Jeremy was wonderful in ‘Shameless,’ but it was a show that got a different level of attention.
“Then he got ‘The Bear’ and now he’s the lead — and that was the kick off of everything.”
“Everything” includes a new level of fame and heartthrob attention.
Earlier this month, White stripped down to his underwear as the new body of Calvin Klein, following the path forged by Mark Wahlberg’s abs. The shoot even overshadowed the Globes, as reporters asked White and his co-stars about it all night.
“This is a work function … you know what I mean?” Edebiri said when asked by “Extra” about the racy photos.
“We’re not at like underwear awards, you know what I mean?” Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays Richie in the show, told a reporter. “We’re here to talk about our show and what we do here.”
As for White himself, he told Vogue: “I think it did the job we wanted it to do—whatever that job is … “I woke up early and went to Houston [Street] with a bunch of friends, and I saw the big billboard.”
“That ad is mayhem, I can’t go on to Instagram without seeing it,” said the senior Hollywood source, who was formerly with White’s talent agency WME. “If there ever was porn made for women, that’s it.”
Even the red corduroy sofa that he poses on is now for sale on Facebook Marketplace.
Asked what WME will do for White, the source replied: “When you have a breakout star from TV, if you want to transition them you want to find out, ‘Do they have movie star quality?’ And you can find that out quickly when they become the face of a huge brand. This showcases Jeremy and proves that he’s commercially viable.”
But White — who is about to film season 3 of “The Bear” in Chicago — paused his career last year in the wake of his much-publicized break-up from Timlin.
He told British GQ in November, after the actors strike: “With everything going on in my personal life, I thought, ‘OK, let’s just pump the brakes in general, and maybe you don’t work for a while.'”
Timlin, 32, and White met as teenagers and married in 2019. After his first Globes in January 2023, she posted on Instagram: “When we were 14 years old and I saw you perform for the first time in drama class, I couldn’t take my eyes off of you.”
But four months after that post, she announced their split on Instagram, writing, “Being a single mom is not how I pictured it. It is so f–king hard.”
Followers were confused as Timlin called herself a “single mother” and thanked “everyone that has helped me in these last 9 months,” before amending the post to “co-parent.””
Pvnew has reached out to Timlin for comment.
At the time, sources told Pvnew that White was “blindsided” by Timlin’s post.
Friends of the actor said he did not cheat on Timlin, but admitted that his hectic film schedule in Chicago caused tension in their relationship.
“Jeremy had no control about where he was filming. He filmed ‘The Bear’ in Chicago and any time he could, he came home. He is so involved in those girls’ lives, he adores his daughters,” said one pal.
Weeks after the split was made public, White was seen kissing model Ashley Moore. He has been dating Rosaía since last fall and the two have been spotted holding hands in Los Angeles and Brooklyn.
Timlin and White are said to now be in a better place.
In court papers seen by Pvnew, White has agreed to alcohol testing as part of their joint custody agreement.
Per the terms, the star will be tested five times a week when their daughters are in his care.
If booze is found in the actor’s system, he will test again after 15 minutes — at which point, if positive, he loses custodial rights until next steps are determined.
Additionally, the documents state that White must go to at least two Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week on top of therapy.
Asked about his 2023, White told GQ: “It’s been insane…“A lot of high highs, a lot of terribly low lows.”
“It’s hard to pay attention to your personal life when your career is blowing up,” admitted the source. “But that’s not to say that Jeremy isn’t putting the work in.”
White grew up in Brooklyn and trained as a dancer, and he has said his real dream is Broadway. He’s now in talks with potential productions that would kick off in early 2025.
Due to the lengthy Hollywood strike, the Emmys were delayed in 2023, meaning Monday will be the first time White eligible for an Emmy.
Said the Hollywood source: “Jeremy has the potential to become an Oscar winner, that’s for sure.”
