She’s back!
Lana Del Rey performed her first live stage show in more than three years at the MITA Festival 2023 in Rio De Janeiro over the weekend.
The “Summertime Sadness” crooner, 37, channeled Marilyn Monroe while wearing a blond wig as she performed songs from her latest album, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.”
The Brazil festival marks the first time the singer — whose real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant — has performed a full concert since November 2019.
In the last couple of years, Del Rey has only made appearances on late-night talk shows and she performed once with Bleachers at the High Water Festival in South Carolina earlier this year.
Last March, the Grammy nominee received the Visionary Award at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music for her outstanding career.
“I don’t exactly have a long-term vision at all, but if you were curious, I am very, very happy,” Del Rey said during her speech.
“When I released my first album 14 years ago, the waters were not quite as warm. I’m really happy for everyone who feels like it’s a wonderful time in the culture to be themselves and express themselves. It didn’t feel that way in 2008.”
In 2006, Del Rey released her debut album, “Sirens.” However, it was the release of her 2014 one, “Born To Die,” that skyrocketed her into a cult icon.
Last year, the singer urged fans not to listen to leaked music after some of her prized possessions were stolen in a California smash-and-grab.
The New York native told fans in a now-deleted Instagram Live video that thieves took her backpack containing her computer, multiple hard drives and a camcorder.
“A few months ago, I parked my car on Melrose Place — actually Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles — and I stepped away for a minute,” she said in a now-deleted Instagram Live video Wednesday.
“Please don’t listen to the music if you hear it, because it’s not coming out yet,” she said.
“Obviously I won’t ever leave anything in the car again, even if it’s just for a moment. But we’ve had the same issues at the house, and it is a constant thing. And although I’m so grateful to be able to share all of the good stuff, I just also want to share that it has been a challenge.”
Despite staying out of the limelight recently, the “Video Games” songstress has been busy in her personal life.
She is reportedly engaged to Evan Winiker, a managing partner at Range Media, who looks after talent including Disco Biscuits, MAX and Daya.
Engagement rumors first sparked when Del Rey was spotted at the Billboard event wearing a huge diamond sparkler.
The 40-year-old comes from a music background himself, having previously been in a band called Steel Train with songwriter and producer Jack Antonoff.
