Rebecca Romijn has finally admitted that she was “shocked” by ex-husband John Stamos’ memoir nearly three months after its release.
“I was sort of blindsided by it,” the “X-Men” star told “Entertainment Tonight” on the red carpet for the Critics Choice Awards over the weekend.
“I was very surprised by all of that, incredibly shocked actually,” she added. “But you know, I don’t really want to help him sell his books based on those headlines. So that’s all I really want to say about it.”
In the “Full House” star’s “If You Would Have Told Me“ memoir – which hit bookshelves in October 2023 – Stamos accused Romijn of being unfaithful and treating him poorly during their marriage.
“She implies, sometimes subtly and sometimes openly, that I’m not smart enough for her and her entourage of ass-kissers,” Stamos wrote.
Speaking on Romijn’s alleged infidelity, Stamos added, “Betrayal starts as a sinking feeling in your stomach, grows into a suspicion that clouds your every thought, and by the time you find out the truth, it’s uniquely horrible at first but also expected, like you’ve been waiting for something bad to happen.”
While promoting the release of his book, the 60-year-old actor recalled referring to his ex as “the devil” as they were going through their divorce.
“I just hated her,” Stamos, who split from Romijn in 2004, told People. “I couldn’t believe how much I hated her, and it ruined my life.
Stamos also admitted that he felt “emasculated” by Romijn’s success during their marriage.
“I loved her and I thought she was super talented,” he said. “But I forgot about my own stuff. She was taking off and I just wasn’t paying attention to mine. And it wasn’t her fault.”
Stamos further conceded that he believed Romijn “outgrew” him.
While Romijn didn’t address the memoir until now, her second husband, Jerry O’Connell, had no problem bashing Stamos for the unsuspected name drop.
In December 2023, the “Kangaroo Jack” star — who tied the knot with Romijn in 2007 — called Stamos’ choice to write about his ex-wife a “betrayal.”
O’Connell also claimed that Romijn “didn’t get any warning” about her inclusion in the tell-all book, and only realized she was mentioned after its publication.
“We [found] out just like anyone else,” the 49-year-old alleged on “Access Hollywood.”
