This is what she was made for.
Billie Eilish kept her schoolgirl streak going — and showed her “Barbie” pride — on the Grammys 2024 red carpet in Los Angeles Sunday, wearing a Barbie-themed varsity jacket and tie as she geared up for what’s likely to be another big night for the movie.
The 22-year-old “What Was I Made For” singer, whose Grammy-nominated song is featured on the hit Greta Gerwig film’s soundtrack, showed off her scholastic style in a black tie and baggy black jacket with pink satin sleeves by Chrome Hearts.
The playful style was a reworked vintage design that was custom-made for Eilish according to her stylist, Andrew Mukamal (via E!).
Her bespoke coat read “Barbie” in pink letters above a pair of sunglasses and a clothes hanger on the chest and buttoned up with silver heart-shaped buttons, with the back featuring a doll-like design.
She paired the coat with a loose white button-up shirt and wide-legged black pants from Willy Chavarria and black boots.
The “Ocean Eyes” singer wore her bold black-and-red hair down in a slightly wavy style, sporting a pair of black wire-rimmed glasses.
And Eilish might wow audiences with another Barbie look when she performs at Sunday night’s show, which Trevor Noah is hosting for the fourth year in a row.
Eilish was nominated for six Grammys this year and has already taken home one, winning best song written for visual media during Sunday’s pre-show.
Her other nominations include record of the year, best pop solo performance, best music video and song of the year for “What Was I Made For” from the “Barbie” soundtrack.
She’s also nominated for best pop/duo group performance for “Never Felt So Alone,” her collaboration with Labrinth.
Sunday’s look follows a series of bold black-and-white choices for the 7-time Grammy winner this awards season.
She wore a school-uniform-like ensemble on the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet last month, sporting a loose Willy Chavarria khaki skirt paired with an oversized black blazer and a white dress shirt featuring a Peter Pan collar.
And for the Critics Choice Awards, the “Bad Guy” singer went with another black-and-white ‘fit, wearing a long white Thom Browne shirt dress with a tight black corseted frock layered on top.
Although she got snubbed by the Oscars this year, we have a feeling this Barbie girl will be cleaning up tonight.
