Jane Fonda flung an award at Justine Triet’s back during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
When the director won the Palme d’Or on Saturday for “Anatomy of the Fall” and accidentally left the scroll at the podium, Fonda attempted to flag her down.
When Triet didn’t hear the 85-year-old actress’ calls, Fonda took matters into her own hands and chucked the certificate at the winner’s back.
Although the scroll clocked Triet in the back of the head, she didn’t appear to notice as it thudded to the floor behind her.

Twitter users praised the “Barbarella” star’s move, calling her a “queen” with an “excellent shot.”
Fonda stunned at the annual awards show in a sequined black gown, a chain necklace and matching earrings.
The Oscar winner has been documenting her Cannes weekend via Instagram, from posing with Eva Longoria to meeting Kate Winslet for the first time.
The event comes nearly one year after Fonda shared her cancer diagnosis.
“I’ve been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma,” the Emmy winner wrote via Instagram in September 2022. “This is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky.”
By December of the same year, Fonda was in remission after undergoing chemotherapy, which she called the “best birthday present ever.”
Fonda has maintained her health with consistent workouts ever since, saying at a February event that “you have to be able to make love.”
While the Golden Globe winner joked at the time that she doesn’t “remember too much” about that, she divulged details about her sex life to Andy Cohen in July 2022.
She told “Andy Cohen Live” listeners that her sex life got better with age but acknowledged that she would currently characterize her intercourse as “private” and “solo.”
