More like “Pirates of the Cavity-an.”
Nearly three decades before being trolled for his “rotting” teeth, Johnny Depp shared how proud he was of his decaying chompers.
“I’ve got loads of cavities,” he boasted in a 1995 interview with Premiere magazine. “I had a root canal done eight years ago that’s unfinished. It’s like a rotten little stub.”
The actor, then 31, claimed he “liked” his flawed smile.
“It’s like when the Indians would make something beaded, they would always put imperfections on it,” he said, adding, “I’m proud of these.”
Depp also bashed those who have pearly whites and said how much he would despise having fabulous fangs.
“When I see people with perfect teeth, it drives me up the wall,” he said. “I’d rather swallow a tick than have that!”
The magazine did claim, however, that the “Nightmare on Elm Street” star’s breath remained odorless despite his affinity for chain-smoking cigarettes and sipping merlot.
The interview resurfaced after Depp’s teeth were torn apart by online trolls when he flashed his browning grin while attending the 2023 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.
“Johnny Depp’s teeth are literally ROTTING,” one person tweeted on Wednesday along with a close-up look at the star’s mouth.
“This should be considered bacterial biological warfare,” a second jabbed.
“Petition to start a petition to get Johnny some new teeth?!” the official Twitter for InstaSmile tweeted.
“That’s absolutely disgusting.
