Maksim Chmerkovskiy is all about Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater’s potential romance.
The “Dancing With the Stars” alum shared his support for the ballroom partners in an interview with the US Sun Thursday.
Chmerkovskiy, 43, pointed out that the Season 32 competitors are both “single” since Slater, 34, filed for divorce from her husband, Sasha Farber, in February and Umansky, 53, is separated from his wife, Kyle Richards.
“You think they’re not going to look at each other and be like, ‘Damn, you’re hot and interesting and also fun to be with’ if they have a good relationship?” the choreographer asked.
Chmerkovskiy went on to call Umansky an “awesome dude” and Slater a “cool girl.”
“If Emma and Mauricio find each other to be those people for them, I wish them nothing but butterflies and all the best,” he added.
While the dancer admittedly used to judge “DWTS” partners who hooked up, he has changed his tune, saying, “Do you, boo.”
Umansky and Slater made headlines over the weekend when they were photographed holding hands ahead of a sushi date in Beverly Hills, Calif.
According to a Matsuhisa waiter, the duo kissed at the bar inside.
After Richards, 54, admitted on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” Wednesday that the PDA “hurt [her] feelings,” Umansky and Slater took to Instagram Stories to address the paparazzi pics.

“For full clarity, we are not dating,” the real estate agent claimed in a video Thursday, calling the choreographer a “good friend” with whom he has a “special bond.”
“When we came out of dinner, we were recapping and I reached out to grab Emma’s hand, and she grabbed my hand, and we, you know, walked to the cars just recapping and summarizing and then the paparazzi caught that moment,” Umansky recalled of the allegedly “blown-out moment.”
Chmerkovskiy believes that the pair’s connection — platonic or otherwise — is a “great sign” for their future on the ABC show.
“At least they’re having a good time in rehearsal,” he told the outlet, noting that it’s easy to become “a little annoyed” with your partner during weeks five and six.
