The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Cameron Diaz revealed that her daughter, Raddix, “knows all the words” to the “catchy” tunes her husband, Benji Madden, comes up with for the 3-year-old.
“He has, like, the best songs,” the “Charlie’s Angels” star shared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Wednesday.
“They play in my head all the time because he sings them to her, and she knows the words, and it’s the sweetest thing ever. It really is. It kills me.”
Benji, 44, is the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the band Good Charlotte, and he also plays in the Madden Brothers alongside his twin brother, Joel Madden.
Diaz, 51, is also fond of her husband’s kid-friendly songs.
“He has some bangers,” she told host Jimmy Fallon. “I’m telling you. I’m like, ‘Whoa, that is, like, that’s catchy.’”
The “Bad Teacher” star and the “Anthem” musician tied the knot in January 2015. Four years later, they welcomed Raddix via surrogate.
Since becoming a mom, Diaz gushed about how “lucky” she is to have Benji’s help with their daughter.
“He’s so good,” she during an April 2020 Instagram Live. “He’s such an amazing father. Like, he’s incredible.”
However, parenting does have its ups and downs.
Last May, the actress shared that she sometimes loses “her s–t” while raising their daughter.
“It’s challenging,” she confessed on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in May 2022 of life with a toddler before advising other parents who may lose their cool.
“If you do blow up, just … say, ‘Oh, my God. Mommy lost her s–t, and I didn’t mean to say that to you if I hurt your feelings or if I upset you. I just want you to know Mommy’s human, too.'”
Diaz also said that she typically reminds herself that “kids are always just trying to express” their emotions.
“They’re not actively trying to be bad,” she explained. “My job is to just help her find the words to her emotions, her experience, what she’s going through, and be able to help her identify that and then move through it.”
