Ken Rosato celebrates 24th anniversary with husband after ABC7 firing

Ken Rosato has been spending time with his husband following his ousting from ABC7.

The foul-mouthed anchor’s spouse, Chris Sobel, posted a photo of the pair on Instagram Saturday, captioning it, “It’s our 24th anniversary today. So 24 years down. Forever to go!”

The social media shoutout was shared online a day after Pvnew broke the news that Rosato, 56, was now out of a job after being caught insulting a colleague on a hot mic.

We later revealed that the former “Eyewitness News This Morning” host was let go for calling his co-anchor, Shirleen Allicot, a “c–t.”

Although Sobel, an executive producer at WCBS, frequently posts about Rosato, it appears that the longtime ABC journalist does not often give viewers a peek into his personal life.

However, according to an Instagram post Rosato’s husband shared in May 2022, the couple has been together since at least 2003 and tied the knot in 2016.

Three years prior to dating, Rosato worked as a priest in a church he helped found in Florida.

The disgraced reporter was a pastor at the Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Community, a chapel that he and fellow South Florida Catholics created in October 2000, which followed Roman Catholic ideologies but was not directly affiliated with the religious institution.

Rosato’s church said it encouraged parishioners to attend their masses “knowing that they will not be judged for their human frailties.”

In 2007, he officiated over the wedding of a fellow news reporter and a divorcée who was a “personal trainer with a bad-boy reputation,” according to a New York Times article.

However, Rosato continued to pursue his career in journalism simultaneously.

The same year he presided over the couple’s wedding ceremony in New York City, he was promoted to morning and noon anchor at ABC7.

Rosato often hosted the news program’s Pride celebrations alongside weatherman Sam Champion, who is also part of the LGBTQ+ community.

“Happy Pride everyone! It’s hot out here!” Sobel captioned a photo of him and his partner from a taping of a Pride broadcast last June.

Neither Sobel nor Rosato have commented on the latter’s recent firing.

Spokesperson Todd Shapiro declined Pvnew’s request for comment.
