Not Today, haters!
Jenna Bush Hager clapped back at haters who criticized outfit choices their in-house stylist picked for her and Hoda Kotb.
The “Today with Hoda and Jenna” co-hosts participated in one of their frequent segments, “Choose the Look,” where they’re each given three outfits and fans vote on which one they’ll wear the following broadcast.
However, after executive producer Talia Parkinson-Jones showed the six outfits on Wednesday, hundreds of fans commented negative things under each of the social media posts.
Despite the naysayers, Kotb and Bush Hager still wore one of the outfits based off of fan votes on Thursday’s show.
“Thank you Talia, and Talia, I hope you didn’t read the comments, because they weren’t true,” Bush Hager told Parkinson-Jones.
Kotb, 59, seemed confused and asked Bush Hager, 41, what she was talking about.
“Well people said, ‘fire the stylist,’ and we don’t want you to go anywhere!” Bush Hager assured her.
Parkinson-Jones shook off the internet trolls who were “hating” and said the co-hosts “look fabulous.”
“The proof is in the pudding!” Bush Hager exclaimed.
Kotb also chimed in and explained that they do this segment with Parkinson-Jones, because it helps her “step out of my comfort zone” and “that’s what life’s about.”
“Like you can find the exact outfit, you say this looks like a Jenna outfit or this looks like a Hoda outfit or whatever, but I do think it’s fun,” Kotb said.
Bush Hager added that Parkinson-Jones chooses “high fashion” outfits and “not everybody can handle that hotness.”
Both co-hosts appeared to like their chosen outfits and each said their look was “cute” and they feel “really good.”
Kotb was given three options: a bold colorful striped sweater with a black midi skirt, a beige sleeveless turtleneck with a white vegan leather midi skirt and a matching black-and-white sweater and pant set.
Meanwhile, Bush Hager was given a form fitting midi length bright rainbow dress, a beige vest pantsuit and an all-pink skirt suit set.
Viewers ultimately chose the beige and white skirt look for Kotb, and the bright striped rainbow dress for Bush Hager.
“I feel very comfortable. I like this look, thank you to everybody who voted thank you to Talia for choosing it,” Kotb said.
Bush Hager initially worried that she was showing “too much cleavage” and hiked up her neckline before Kotb assured her it’s “actually not” too much.
