John Stamos recalled a sweet moment he shared with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen when he and his former “Full House” stars reunited at Bob Saget’s funeral.
“They came to Bob’s funeral, and it was so beautiful,” Stamos said on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” Tuesday.
Stamos, adding that the Olsen twins didn’t speak at the funeral, recalled how the two “got us all together and said, ‘We love you. We loved our childhood. We’re grateful for you guys, we thank you for making those eight years so beautiful for us. We have such fond memories.'”
“And everyone just needed to hear that,” he said.
Stamos, 60, starred in the ’90s hit TV series alongside the Olsen twins — who shared the role of Michelle Tanner — and Saget, who played the family patriarch, Danny Tanner.
As Pvnew previously reported, Saget died unexpectedly in January 2022 from a “brain bleed” after “accidentally hitting his head” in his hotel room. He was 65.
“The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma,” a statement from Saget’s family revealed at the time.
“They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.”
“As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.”
Soon after the news of Saget’s passing emerged, Mary-Kate and Ashley, both 37, released a statement obtained by Pvnew.
“Bob was the most loving, compassionate and generous man. We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has,” the two said.
“We are thinking of his daughters, wife and family and are sending our condolences.”
Stamos also spoke out in the wake of his co-star’s death, writing via Twitter, “I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock.”
“I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby.”
Stamos’ new memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me,” hit shelves Tuesday.
