Hailey Bieber wants a baby “so bad” — but is “scared” to take that next step.
“I literally cry about this all the time,” the model told the Sunday Times when asked about her and her husband Justin Bieber’s family plans.
“It’s enough that people say things about my husband or my friends. I can’t imagine having to confront people saying things about a child.”
Hailey, 26, noted that she can only do her “best” to make her future children “feel loved and safe.”
She and Justin, 29, have shared mixed feelings about having kids since getting married in September 2018.
While the Grammy winner wrote via Instagram in November 2019 that he wanted babies in their relationship’s “next season,” he later clarified to Ellen DeGeneres that his wife was “not ready yet.”
Justin explained in the December 2020 interview that Hailey “still has some things she wants to accomplish as a woman” before motherhood.
“I think that’s OK,” he added at the time. “I’m going to have as many as Hailey is willing to push out. … It’s her body and whatever she wants to do.”
The following year, the “Baby” singer told Hailey in his “Justin Bieber: Our World” documentary that he wanted to “start trying.”
However, Hailey told WSJ. Magazine in January 2022 that she “definitely” was not planning on conceiving that year.
“I think I had it ingrained in my head that I was going to want to have kids right away and I was going to want to have kids super, super young,” she recalled. “Then I turned 25 and I’m like, ‘I’m still super, super young!'”
Three months later, Hailey denied baby bump rumors — as she has multiple times over the years — telling her Instagram followers to “leave [her] alone.”
For now, she is an aunt to her sister Alaia Baldwin’s 2-year-old daughter, Iris.
