The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” alum Lauren Manzo discussed her divorce from Vito Scalia for the first time on Tuesday.
“By now you guys have seen the news that has broken, [and I] just want to let you guys know we’re all good. This has been done for a very long time,” Manzo, who took a break from her brother Albie’s pre-wedding festivities in Italy, explained during a video message on Instagram.
“The last part of the process was filing,” she added.
The “Manzo’d with Children” alum explained that she and Scalia “were on the same page” about the divorce and they went through with it “together.”
“We continue to move forward with love and respect for each other, and we will always be a family,” she noted.
Manzo, 35, also emphasized that their priority is to co-parent their 6-year-old daughter, Marchesa.
“Vito and I love and respect each other and we continue to move forward as a family,” she continued. “All that matters to us is that our daughter is happy and healthy. Her privacy is important to us.”
Manzo ended her video by explaining they didn’t post a “dramatic announcement” because they haven’t been on a reality TV show in years and asked for continued “privacy” for their daughter.
Scalia filed for divorce from Manzo on Sept. 5 after eight years of marriage, according to documents obtained by the US Sun.
He cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and claimed they’d been having issues “for a period of at least six months, which has caused the breakdown of their marriage.”
The Bravolebrity has since turned off the comments on many of her Instagram posts, including ones of her visibly not wearing her wedding ring.
Fans have speculated on the status of their marriage for years because Manzo rarely posted photos of Scalia. She’s also been spotted in several photos dating back to 2019 sans wedding ring.
However, in 2018, Scalia exclusively told Pvnew that the split rumors were “absolutely not true.”
“We just don’t put our relationship on social media and people can’t seem to understand that,” he wrote on Facebook at the time. “We are perfect!!!!!!”
The former couple met through her brother and dated throughout the early seasons of “RHONJ.” They said “I do” in 2015 in front of Bravo cameras and welcomed their daughter in February 2017.
