‘SNL’ mocks Jada Pinkett Smith’s memoir bombshells: ‘Never go to bed happy’

“Saturday Night Live” took aim at Jada Pinkett Smith following the release of her buzzworthy new memoir, “Worthy.”

During the “Weekend Update” segment from Saturday’s episode, Michael Che interviewed Ego Nwodim — in character as the “Girls Trip” star — while the two poked fun at the bombshell revelations about her tumultuous marriage to Will Smith.

“The day we got married, I knew there was going to be trouble. At our wedding, someone stood up and objected,” Nwodim said as Pinkett Smith.

When asked who that person was, Nwodim quipped, “It was me. Yeah, it was me.”

The comedian continued to make digs at the couple’s decades-long union — and the actress’ penchant for oversharing about their relationship — by joking that they have discovered the secret to marriage.

“23 years later, Will and I are still a unit. And it’s because we have learned that the secret to a successful marriage is never go to bed happy,” Nwodim, 35, said.

She even went as far as to say that she is in a “in a solid, fortified place” after “publicly cucking [her] millionaire husband.”

The “Saturday Night Live” sketch came nearly a week after Pinkett Smith’s memoir hit stores.

Amid her media tour, the actress, 52, revealed to People earlier this month that she and Smith have been separated for seven years.

Joking about their separation and decision not to file for divorce, Nwodim as Pinkett Smith quipped that “divorce is not an option” because she has “principles.”

“If we got divorced, he could mess around and end up happy. And I can’t have that.”

The comedy skit even addressed the infamous 2022 Oscars slap, which Nwodim joked gave life to their marriage.

“It was the first time in years that I felt like his wife. And now I am so clear on what to do if we ever start drifting apart again,” she said to Che, 40. “The next time we hit a rough patch, I’m going to ask Will to shoot Kevin Hart.”

The “SNL” stars also touched on Smith’s recent appearance during the press tour to show support for his estranged wife.

“We have had a very, very long and tumultuous [relationship]. We call it ‘brutiful.’ It was brutal and beautiful at the same time,” the actor, 55, said onstage in Baltimore Wednesday, adding that their marriage was a “sloppy public experiment in unconditional love.”

In response, Nwodim joked that “other people” refer to their marriage as “brunhealthy,” or brutal and unhealthy.

Pinkett Smith has received plenty of flack for her candid revelations, with some critics calling the book a “cash grab.”

The “View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin also slammed the mother of two for “oversharing” about the inner workings of her marriage.

“I think she needs to be more in tune with [Smith’s] feelings,” she said Tuesday.
