Drew Barrymore is “sort” of off the market — and has been for three years.
In a preview for Monday’s episode of the “Drew Barrymore Show,” she reveals to Gwyneth Paltrow that she has been seeing someone “sort of in and around the last three years,” per Entertainment Tonight.
She further discloses that they met on the exclusive member-only dating app, Raya.
While discussing her relationship later on in the episode, the “Never Been Kissed” star says she took a major step recently: bringing her man to a wedding.
“I invited him to a wedding next weekend, and he said, ‘Wow, after three and a half years you are going to invite me to a wedding?'” she recalls.
During the preview, she further tells Paltrow that Taylor Swift’s shamelessly public relationship with Travis Kelce inspired her to finally disclose her own.
“I just want to say, for me personally, I have been single for seven years [and] seeing her on that first date out there in the box with his family, I had a big Oprah a-ha moment,” she notes, referring to the singer’s first appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears in September.
“There was something so normal about it, and obviously Taylor Swift is everything but normal, but I’m a female, I’m going to go out on a date with a male, I’m not going to overthink this, I am not going to be the dark horse and be secretive and weird about it.”
She adds, “This was evidence of not being affected by what other people think … it was so calm, confident and normal that it just made me think I should do this too.”
Barrymore, 48, has been publicly single since she split from art consultant Will Kopelman in 2016 after three years of marriage.
“They’ve been having some difficulties, but they remain close for the sake of their kids,” a person close to the former couple told Pvnew at the time.
They welcomed two daughters during their union: Olive, 11, and Frankie, 9.
Since then, Barrymore has given mixed messages about her love life.
In 2020, she confirmed that she would “never, never, never” get married again, but was open to dating down the road.
“It doesn’t mean that maybe I wouldn’t like to meet someone, especially when my kids go off to college,” she explained to People.
“Or a year from now, I could be totally in love. I’m open to it; I’m not seeking it. My cup runneth over. I have so much love in my life.”
She also admitted that the little bit of dating she had done did not end well for her.
“I went on a couple of dates. A lot of people totally ghosted me,” she remembered.
“And one time I was waiting to go on a date, and at the time we were supposed to meet he just wrote, ‘Yeah, I can’t.’ But I’d rather hang out with my friends.”
Then, in December 2022, the Golden Globe winner confirmed that she was dating again — just to backtrack in June of this year.
“I spent a lot of my life loving romance and drama and all of that. I just burnt myself out on it,” she told New York Magazine.
“I genuinely am tired and exhausted.”
