Ice-T, Coco Austin and their daughter, Chanel, all sleep in the same bed.
The rapper revealed their unusual sleeping arrangement while discussing his close bond with the 7-year-old on the “That Moment with Daymond John” podcast Tuesday.
“I am so much more connected to her than my other kids,” he said, referencing daughter Letesha, 47, and son Tracy, 31, whom he welcomed with exes Adrienne and Darlene Ortiz, respectively.
Ice-T, who admitted he was “distracted” by his career while raising his eldest children, explained, “I’m comfortable [now]. I’m in a cruise pattern. I was there when Coco was pregnant, I went to the hospital and Chanel still sleeps in the bed with us.”
The “Law & Order: SVU” star went on to quote Muhammad Ali, saying that a man having “a child in the second half of his life, after he turns 50,” is a “reset.”
Ice-T, 65, called the change “a beautiful thing,” adding, “It made me want to live forever. It made me create new goals. It’s the best gift I could ever get.”
Ice-T was 58 when Austin, now 44, gave birth to Chanel in November 2015.
While raising the little one, the couple have continuously clapped back at social media trolls over their parenting tactics, from breast-feeding their daughter to bathing her in the sink.
In 2019, Ice-T defended a photo of the model sleeping topless next to Chanel and their dog Alexus.
After reminding one naysayer that “women have nipples,” the Grammy winner tweeted, “May I ask what’s your problem? … Everybody have a Great Day. Make your haters sick.”
Austin cried over mom-shamers’ comments during a “Tamron Hall Show” appearance last year, comparing the criticism to “being underneath a microscope” all the time.
“You don’t hear the goodness, you just hear a lot of bad,” she explained in November 2022. “And I know I’m a good mother.”
The actress and Ice-T have been married since January 2002.
