Kim Zolciak once said divorce would never be on the table for her and soon-to-be ex-husband Kroy Biermann.
“That’s not an option in my house,” the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum, 44, confidently stated during an October 2017 interview with Fox News.
The “Don’t Be Tardy” alum — whose family-focused reality show ended in 2020 — told the outlet back then that the primary reason why so many other “Housewives” have faced divorce is because of the “hype of TV and the publicity.”
However, the Bravolebrity notably said, “I would never allow a show to impact my marriage in any way. My marriage is definitely first.”
Per legal documents obtained by TMZ, Zolciak filed for divorce and listed April 30 as the date of separation between her and the former NFL star after 11 years of marriage.
Reps for Zolciak — who filed because the marriage was “irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation” — did not immediately respond to Pvnew’s request for comment.
The Bravo star doubled down on her approach to marriage as recently as November 2022.
In an interview with E! News, she detailed the importance of married couples staying “true” to wedding vows and to their partner when “things get tough.”
“They’d rather just say screw it and try it on the next one, but you got to hold true to your promises that you gave that person when you were standing in front of your friends and family,” she said.
News also broke Monday that the reality star and her estranged husband allegedly owe the IRS more than $1 million.
After the couple defaulted on a $1.65 million loan they took out for their home in 2016, the multi-million dollar house — that they allegedly put millions and millions into — was put up for auction in February.
Zolciak — who shares Kroy “KJ” Jagger Jr., 11, Kash Kade, 10, and twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 9, with Biermann, as well as two daughters Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21, from a previous marriage — initially denied rumors that their Georgia home was up for auction.
Speaking to her “haters,” Zolciak said, “I’m here until I f–king want to move out. ‘Til I decide I don’t want to live here anymore.”
She later worked out a deal to secure the family’s living situation and remain in the home.
The auction, scheduled for March 7, was canceled.
As for the couple’s mounting debt from the IRS, documents obtained by TMZ revealed that they owe $1.1 million for unpaid taxes, interest and penalties from 2013, 2017 and 2018.
In the report, it said that Zolciak and Biermann also owe the state of Georgia $15,000 for unpaid taxes for 2018.
Zolciak has recently made appearances back in the Bravo world amid the hefty bill, making a cameo in the “RHOA” season 15 trailer.
The Bravo star left “RHOA” in 2012 after five seasons, later returning as a “friend of” in the 10th season of the show.
In 2012 Zolciak had her own wedding spinoff, “Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding,” and then filmed “Don’t Be Tardy” for eight seasons.
