No “Love Story” here.
Dianna Agron shut down longstanding rumors that she and Taylor Swift were romantically involved.
When asked if she was actually the inspiration behind Swift’s song “22,” the “Glee” alum told Rolling Stone in an interview published on Sunday, “Me? Oh, if only!”
And on the reason why she was mentioned in the song’s liner notes, Agron said, “That’s more because of a friendship than being the inspiration for the song. But I would not be the person to ask about that. I cannot claim that!”
Agron, 37, admitted that she found it hilarious but not surprising that fans believed she and the “Anti-Hero” singer, 33, had been in a relationship.
“That is so interesting,” she said of the rumors. “I… I mean, there have been many stories about my dating life that are so wildly untrue. That’s funny.”
Fans have been speculating for years that Swift’s tune “22” was an ode to the “I Am Number Four” alum since Agron was mentioned in the song’s liner notes.
In the song, which debuted in 2012 as part of Swift’s “Red” album, the Grammy-winning artist sings the lyrics, “I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22/Everything will be alright if you keep me next to you.”
She and Agron were also spotted hanging out numerous times together between 2011 and 2012, leading many to develop theories that the actress was Swift’s muse for the hit song.
Both Agron and Swift are big advocates for the LGBTQIA+ community, however, neither woman has been known to have been in a queer relationship.
Agron was married to Mumford & Sons musician Winston Marshall for three years until ending things in 2020. She “casually dated” Bradley Cooper last year and was romantically linked to Nicholas Hoult in 2015 and Australian actor Thomas Cocquerel in 2014.
Currently, Agron is rumored to be dating Harold Ancart. The two were spotted kissing last November though they have yet to comment on the status of their relationship.
Meanwhile, Swift is reportedly dating The 1975 frontman Matty Healy following her breakup with her boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn. She has also dated many famous men including Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles, Calvin Harris, and Tom Hiddleston.
