Ballin’ on a budget.
June “Mama June” Shannon exclusively tells Pvnew that she was able to plan an “extravagant” Florida wedding to husband Justin “Smallz” Stroud for an astonishingly low amount.
“And I’ll tell you like this, we paid $13,000. No lie,” she says while promoting her WE tv series “Mama June: Family Crisis.”
The reality star, 43, boasts that her Panama City venue, hotel rooms, wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, the fee for her wedding planner plus the cost of multiple events throughout their weekend celebration were included in her budget.
Shannon also asserts that “nothing was comped,” while Stroud raves that any “stress” associated with footing the bill for their own nuptials was well worth it.
“The stress was OK, though, because of the meaning it had behind it and who all was there spoke a lot of volumes,” he says of their colorful affair for which 38 guests were present.
“We had only 38 people at our wedding and it was his family and my family only,” Shannon chimes in, “and we had an amazing wedding designer and she put together an extravagant wedding that looked like I paid $50,000.”
The couple — who tied the knot last year in a secret courthouse ceremony — exchanged vows in front of their loved ones in a scenic seaside affair in February.
Shannon’s famous four daughters — Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, 28, Jessica Shannon, 26, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, 23, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 17 — walked her down the aisle. Meanwhile, Stroud’s mother escorted him to the altar.
Shannon — who was previously romantically linked to Geno Doak and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson — told Pvnew in June 2022 that she asked Stroud to marry her, challenging societal gender norms.
“It was kind of a spontaneous thing,” she recalled. “I asked him to marry me. It’s 2022, ladies. You can ask your husband to marry you.”
“Mama June: Family Crisis” airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on WE tv.
