TikTok star Bobby Moudy died by suicide on April 28 after being “weighed down by financial pressures,” his family announced. He was 46.
“It is with great sadness that we share the tragic loss of Bobby Moudy,” the family shared in a statement on his daughter Kaytlin Moudy’s TikTok account Tuesday. “Bobby was a loving husband, brother and friend.”
The Moudys went on to share that the social media star — known for posting wholesome content with his family on the video-sharing app — was a “victim of suicide.”
“Bobby was full of life and laughs, but also weighed down by financial pressures,” the statement continued. “His wife Jennifer and their three children are in emotional and financial crisis as he was their rock.”
The family asked fans who were “touched” by Bobby’s content in any way to donate to a GoFundMe page to help them out. The post then went on to show touching photos of Bobby spending time with his family throughout the years.
The late TikToker and Jennifer shared Kaytlin, Max and Charleigh.
Jennifer mourned her husband’s death on her Instagram, sharing that she was at a loss for words amid her family’s heartbreak.
“We all have so many thoughts and feelings, but few words to express them,” she wrote in a statement Wednesday. “It’s hard to explain how one minute you’re heartbroken over the amount of pain and desperation he endured, and the next you’re in a rage for the choice that he made.”
She continued, “You have to keep reminding yourself to direct the anger at the choice and the sadness the loss of an amazing bad, husband, son, brother, cousin nephew and friend.”
She then used the post to bring awareness to the suicide epidemic.
“As a family, we don’t want other families to endure such a loss. 45,979 families felt this pain when the last statistics were done,” she wrote. “On average there are 130 suicides per day. Those numbers are not OK.”
Tributes poured in from hordes of fans who were shocked to hear about Bobby’s sudden death.
“my heart just sank. i’m so beyond sorry, i’ve been a silence [sic] follower for a couple years now and he always brought so much joy. praying for you guys!!” one person commented.
“How does one that brought joy & laughter to so many people he didn’t even know, also be the one struggling the hardest. praying for you & ur family
