Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle may not see eye to eye on everything, but both reach for these not-so-basic pumps for public appearances.
Ahead of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation celebrations this weekend, the Princess of Wales stepped out to greet well-wishers outside Buckingham Palace wearing a white long-sleeved Jenny Packham dress paired with Aquazzura Bow Tie Pumps ($850).
While this marks the first time Middleton, 41, has worn this particular black pair, she also owns the style in nude suede ($795), which she sported at the G7 Leaders Reception in 2021.
The bow-topped footwear is a longtime favorite of the Duchess of Sussex’s; she similarly owns pairs in both black and nude suede, and wore them for multiple royal outings before she and husband Prince Harry stepped down from their duties in 2020.

In fact, 41-year-old Markle is such a fan of the style that she has two similar ones from the same Aquazzura collection sitting pretty in her closet: the Bow Tie Sandal ($795) and Bow Tie Ballet Flat ($695).
In addition to being particularly beloved by the royal family, Aquazzura’s heels have also popped up on the soles of stars including Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon, Chrissy Teigen and Eva Longoria, to name but a few.
This isn’t the first time Middleton and Markle have been spotted in the same shoes; both are big fans of Veja’s sustainable sneakers, and the two have also gravitated toward the same Castañer espadrille wedges.

While the Duchess of Sussex won’t join Prince Harry at the coronation this weekend — she’ll stay back home in California with son Archie and daughter Lilibet — it likely won’t be long before she’s sighted stateside in her favorite heels.
