It’s back to the “Futurama!” The trailer has been released for Season 11 of the animated futuristic sitcom. After a decade, the series has defrosted for 10 new episodes which will be added to Hulu on July 24.

Season 11 features “a whole new pandemic in town as the crew explores the future of vaccines, bitcoin, cancel culture, and streaming TV,” said the show’s official synopsis.

New New York will feature the voices of John DiMaggio, Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr and David Herman. “Futurama” was created by Matt Groening and is executive produced by Groening, Cohen, Ken Keeler and Claudia Katz.

Netflix released the “Sweet Magnolias” Season 3 trailer, which will return with 10 episodes on July 20.

based on Sherryl Woods’ novel of the same name, “Sweet Magnolias” follows around three best friends Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Helen (Heather Headley) and Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott), as they grapple with their love lives, friendships and everyday lives, all in their small South Carolina town, Serenity.

Garcia Swisher, Headley and Elliott are joined by Chris Klein, Jamie Lynn Spears , Justin Bruening, Carson Rowland, Logan Allen, Chris Medlin, Anneliese Judge, Brandon Quinn and Dion Johnstone.

Woods serves as an executive producer alongside Dan Paulson and showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson, and co-executive producers Norman Buckley and Matt Drake.

Apple TV+ has set an August 23 premiere date for the second season of its science fiction drama series “Invasion,” adorned with a series of first-look images. Season 2 of “Invasion” picks up months later after its Season 1 finale, with aliens wreaking havoc against the humans.

The series stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shioli Kutsuna, Shamier Anderson, India Brown, Billy Barratt, Azhy Robertson, Paddy Holland and Tara Moayedi. Additional new series regulars making their debut this season include Enver Gjokaj, Nedra Marie Taylor and Naian González Norvind.

“I couldn’t be more excited about the return of ‘Invasion’ on Apple TV+,” said series co-creator and executive producer Simon Kinberg. “It’s a bigger, more intense season that drops our viewers into a wide-scale, global battle from the start. At its core, the show is about the power of the human spirit and the emotional connections that hold us together especially when facing incredible obstacles.”

Kingerg and David Weil co-created the series while Boat Rocker, Audrey Chon, David Witz, Alik Sakharov, Andrew Baldwin and Katie O’Connell Marsh serve as executive producers.

ABC News Studios has released the first official trailer of its upcoming limited docu-series, “The Ashley Madison Affair,” which is set to premiere on July 7.

The three-part series will document the rise and fall of the infamous dating platform Ashley Madison. “The Ashley Madison Affair” will explore the platform’s marketing tactics, and the group of hackers, known as The Impact Team, that brought the demise of the dating site. As the docu-series highlights the platform itself, it will detail The Impact Team’s story and their data breach, which brought the fallout of the site’s participants and leadership.

“The Ashley Madison Affair” is executive produced by Jeremy Dear, Fred Hepburn, Beth Hoppe and senior executive producer David Sloan.

Prime Video has released the first official trailer for its upcoming four-part docuseries produced by Hello Sunshine in partnership with TOGETHXR “Surf Girls Hawai’i,” which is set to premiere on August 18.

“Surf Girls Hawai’i” spotlights the next generation of native Hawaiian female surfers as they train and compete to earn a spot on the lucrative professional surfing World Tour. Surfing stars Moana Jones Wong, Ewe Wong, Maluhia Kinimaka, Pua DeSoto and Brianna Cope star in the series that will follow their personal journeys navigating the responsibility of representing their native Hawaiin heritage in the surfing world.

The series is executive produced by Reese Witherspoon, Sara Rea, Reni Calister, Jessica Robertson, Brett Bouttier, Erik Logan, Jed Pearson, Leslie Garvin, Dara Horenblas and Monica Medelin. HBO has released the first official trailer of its upcoming limited docu-series, “Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York,” which is set to premiere on July 9.

The series is inspired by the actual events in 1990s New York City. As homophobia and hate crimes against the queer community were on the rise, one serial killer sought out his victims in queer nightclubs. The series uncovers the story and analyzes the community’s mistrust of law enforcement, as well as the media coverage of the victims. The series is based on Elon Green’s investigative book “Last Call: A True Story of Love, Lust, and Murder in Queer New York,” and is directed by Anthony Caronna.

“Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York” is executive produced by Caronna, Liz Garbus, Dan Cogan, Jon Bardin, Kate Barry, Elon Green, Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, AJ Dix, Matt Maher, Nancy Abraham, Lisa Heller, Tina Nguyen and two-time Academy Award nominee Howard Gertler (“All the Beauty and the Bloodshed,” “How to Survive a Plague”).

Peacock announced the limited docu-series, “Orlando Bloom: To The Edge,” and released a first look teaser. The upcoming adventure docu-series will follow actor and adventure enthusiast Orlando Bloom, over the course of three episodes.

“Orlando Bloom: To The Edge” will take viewers on Bloom’s journey of self-discovery and efforts to get out of his comfort zone. As Bloom conquers his fears, he will embark on a spiritual journey and learn more about himself, all in an effort to inspire audiences to expand their horizons as well.

Bloom serves as executive producer alongside Adam Karasick, Al Berman, Robert Simonds, Noah Fogelson, Jason Goldberg and Scott Weintrob, with Matthew Akers, Jamie Bovshow and Susan Hoenig serving as co-executive producers.

Max has released the official trailer for the upcoming limited series, “Full Circle,” which is set to premiere on July 13. The six-episode series will continue with two episodes weekly, and conclude on July 27.

Director Steven Soderbergh and writer Ed Solomon are at the helm of the series. “Full Circle” centers on “an investigation into a botched kidnapping uncovers long-held secrets connecting multiple characters and cultures in present-day New York City,” per the official logline.

The series stars Claire Danes, Jim Gaffigan, Jharrel Jerome, Timothy Olyphant, Zazie Beetz, CCH Pounder, Phaldut Sharma, Adia, Sheyi Cole, Gerald Jones, Suzanne Savoy, Ethan Stoddard, Lucian Zanes and Dennis Quaid.

Showtime debuted the first official trailer for the seventh and final season of its hit drama “Billions” on Tuesday in a launch joint with Paramount+ that debuts on August 11.

The seventh season of “Billions” will see “alliances turned on their heads. Old wounds weaponized. Loyalties tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become wary friends. And Bobby Axelrod returns, as the stakes grow from Wall Street to the world,” via the press release.

The series stars David Costabile, Asia Kate Dillon, Dola Rashad, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sakina Jaffrey, Daniel Breaker and Toney Goins. The partnership makes Paramount+ the new streaming home for Showtime, which sports programming including “Billions,” “Yellowjackets” and “The Chi.”

“Billions” is created and executive produced by showrunners Brian Koppelman and David Levien. Beth Schacter serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside April Taylor and Mike Harrop who executively produced the final season. The series was also created by Andrew Ross Sorkin.

FX has released a first-look at its limited murder mystery series “A Murder at the End of the World,” previously titled “Retreat,” which is set to premiere on August 29.

“A Murder at the End of the World” follows the story of the Gen Z amateur sleuth Darby Hart (Emma Corrin). After being invited to a lucrative retreat with eight other people, one of the guests mysteriously is found dead. Per the show’s official logline, “Darby must use all of her skills to prove it was murder against a tide of competing interests and before the killer takes another life.”

The series stars Corrin alongside Clive Owen, Harris Dickinson, Brit Marling, Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, Ryan J. Haddad, Pegah Ferydoni, Javed Khan, Louis Cancelmi, Edoardo Ballerini, Britian Seibert, Christopher Gurr, Kellan Tetlow, Daniel Olson and Neal Huff.

“A Murder at the End of the World” was created and directed by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij who serve as executive producers alongside Andrea Sperling, Melanie Marnich and Nicki Paluga.

“America 2 Korea,” a first-of-its-kind K-Pop competition series, will premiere on JYP Entertainment’s YouTube channel on July 13 at 9 p.m. “A2K” brought the K-pop idol training model and formula to the U.S. as it hosted auditions in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas.

The series synopis reads: “In these five U.S. cities, countless applicants face multiple stages to finally secure the opportunity to perform in front of J.Y. Park, the Founder and Chairman of JYP Entertainment, also a top Korean artist. Those who pass the 5 city auditions are granted the A2K Pendant, the key to the next stage: Boot Camp in Los Angeles.”

AWARD SHOWS

The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics has named the final season of “Succession” its best TV drama for this year’s Dorian TV Awards, among a slate of other actors and titles.

The fifteenth annual Dorian TV Awards saw “Abbott Elementary” take home the title for best TV comedy, Sarah Snook awarded with best TV performance for “Succession” and “Jury Duty” with best reality show. Jennifer Coolidge was awarded best supporting drama performance for “The White Lotus” while Bridget Everett was named best comedy lead for her work in “Somebody Somewhere.”

Additionally, HBO Max’s “The Other Two” was named the best LGBTQ TV show while Director Andrew Ahn’s “Fire Island” scored best TV movie or miniseries. Ariana DeBose was recognized for having the best TV musical performance in “Angela Bassett Did the Thing (Opening Number)” at the BAFTA Film Awards.

EVENTS

Fans of “Yellowjackets” and “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” are in for a treat at this year’s Fandom Party, returning to San Diego for its sixth installment. The event will be presented by Paramount+ and Electronic Arts at the Hard Rock Hotel’s Float on July 20 from 7-11 p.m.

Fandom Party will have an array of “fan-first activations” for multiple titles along with EA’s upcoming video game Immortals of Aveum.

“Being in San Diego for our annual party during one of the largest global fan events is the pinnacle of the year for us at Fandom. It’s a chance to celebrate the best in entertainment and gaming in fun and immersive ways with our fans and partners,” said Perkins Miller, CEO of Fandom.

PARTNERSHIPS

Affion Crockett, Delmar Washington and Comcast NBCUniversal have joined forces to release “Affion Crockett Presents: Microphone Masters,” a new comedy special that will debut on Comcast’s Black Experience on Xfinity platform this fall.

The three-part series will feature emerging comedians Ron G., Kanisha Buss and Brandon Lewis. “Affion Crockett Presents: Microphone Masters” serves as each comedian’s standalone comedy special, with Buss having guest starred on “Laugh Out Loud by Kevin Hart” and Lewis having hosted “Roast Me” and “All Def Digital” in the past.

Crockett, who is represented by ColorCreative, and Washington serve as producers.

“We’re thrilled to work with Affion Crockett and Delmar Washington to bring this exclusive premiere to the Black Experience on Xfinity channel, which furthers our mission of investing in and showcasing authentic Black stories and emerging Black talent,” said Keesha Boyd, VP Entertainment and Emerging Growth Offerings at Comcast. “Comedy is such an integral entertainment genre to the community, and telling the stories of these comedians through their art is yet another way we’re using this channel to help facilitate the discovery of compelling content, while providing a platform for Black content creators.”

DEALS

NFL’s J.J. Watt has signed a multi-year deal with CBS Sports to serve as an NFL studio analyst on all platforms. Watt is a three-time NFL defensive player of the year and in 2017 was recognized as the Walter Payton NFL man of the year. From 2011 to 2022, Watt played 12 NFL seasons with the Houston Texans from 2011-2020 and the Arizona Cardinals from 2021 to 2022.

“I love the game too much to be away from it entirely. I’m very excited to be joining CBS Sports to contribute across all their NFL shows and platforms, including working alongside and learning from JB, Coach, Boomer, Phil and Nate this fall,” said Watt. “Hopefully fans will enjoy the insights and knowledge I’ve gained over my 12 years in the NFL and if we’re lucky, we’ll share a few laughs along the way as well.”

The announcement was made Thursday by CBS sports president David Berson.

“We are thrilled to welcome J.J. to the CBS Sports family and add one of the greatest defensive players of all time to our team,” said Berson. “As he steps off the field after a Hall of Fame career, J.J. brings deep passion, unique insights and opinions from today’s NFL. We think fans will love what J.J. brings to our coverage.”
