“Hacks” co-creator Jen Statsky has moved to Warner Bros. Television Group, sealing an exclusive, multiyear overall deal with the studio. Insiders said Statsky landed at Warner Bros. after a “highly competitive situation.”
This reps Statsky’s first overall deal with Warner Bros. TV Group; she was previously based at Universal Television, which produces “Hacks” for Max. She joins her fellow “Hacks” co-creators Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs at Warner Bros. TV Group, where they first signed an overall deal in 2021 (which is still in place). Warner Bros. TV declined to discuss financial terms for the deal.
Under the new deal, Statsky will develop new series for Warner Bros. TV Group under her First Thought Productions banner. Statsky will create projects for HBO and Max inside Warner Bros. Discovery, as well as for external streaming services and the U.S. broadcast networks.

News comes as voting is underway for the 2024 Emmys, in which “Hacks” Season 3 is nominated for 17 awards — including comedy series and writing for a comedy series (which Statsky shares with Aniello and Downs).
“Hacks” already earned Statsky, Aniello and Downs an Emmy for comedy writing, via the show’s first season in 2021. (All three seasons of the show has earned comedy series and comedy writing nominations). Statsky has also won three Writers Guild Awards, a Golden Globe for comedy series, two AFI Awards and a Peabody. She has also been nominated for the Humanitas Prize and for several Producers Guild awards.
Statsky’s previous credits include four seasons of NBC’s “The Good Place,” as well as co-executive producer and writer on Comedy Central’s “Broad City” for four seasons. She also wrote on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” Netflix’s “Lady Dynamite,” Prime Video’s “Forever,” and NBC’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.”
