Theorist Media — the digital studio and consulting firm founded by MatPat, the longtime host of Game Theory, and Stephanie Patrick — signed with Night, a talent-management company specializing in digital creators.

Video-game influencers and married couple MatPat (full name: Matthew Patrick) and Stephanie (aka Cordy Patrick) launched their original Game Theory channel in 2009. Theorist’s five YouTube channels have a combined total of more than 44 million subscribers, including 19.3 million for the flagship Game Theorists channel.

Earlier this year, MatPat stepped down as host of Game Theory, which is now hosted by creative director Tom Robinson. MatPat hosts GTLive, the company’s podcast-style gaming and reaction talk show “for Team Theorist’s most dedicated fans.” The company’s other channels are Film Theory, hosted by Forrest Lee; Food Theory, hosted by creative director Santi Massa; and Style Theory, hosted by model and cosplayer Amy Roberts.

Founded in 2015, MrBeast — the most-followed individual YouTube creator — was Night’s biggest client. MrBeast (real name: Jimmy Donaldson) parted ways with Night earlier this year. Currently, Night’s talent roster includes the Stokes Twins (84 million YouTube subscribers), Jesser (20 million on YouTube), Kai Cenat (14 million followers on TikTok), Sam and Colby (12.8 million on YouTube) and Zach Justice (5.5 million on TikTok).

Night VP of digital Lili Colwell will run point in managing the relationship with Theorist Media. Tim Scherer, general manager of Theorist, said with Night the company aims to expand its brand “in even more new and exciting ways,” with new product lines, show formats and live experiences.

“We’ve been following Theorist for years now and have never ceased to be impressed by the team’s impressive content and continued innovation,” said Reed Duchscher, founder and CEO of Night. “We’re excited to hit the ground running with the stellar teams of Theorist and Lunar X to continue building out their powerhouse brand.”

Lucas Kollmann, CEO of Lunar X, commented about the Theorist-Night pact, “Night shares our vision to work entrepreneurially with the most talented creators globally on premium content, product initiatives and live experiences.”
