Major production companies including Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot have joined a Producers Guild of America initiative that will provide healthcare to content producers.
Announced on the heels of the Produced By Conference, an annual event held by the PGA, the newcomers join shops like Blumhouse, Legendary, MACRO and Berlanti Productions — who previously promised to add budget line items on shows and movies that will fund these producer benefits for the first time.
“We received an overwhelming and supportive response to the Producers Guild Healthcare Initiative with a growing number of companies committing their pledge to support health insurance benefits for producers,” said PGA leaders Stephanie Allain and Donald De Line. “We would like to acknowledge these 20 companies whose participation makes this essential benefit a reality. This is just the beginning as we continue to gather support from across the industry.”
