Alan Partridge is officially back as evidenced by a new first look image from his upcoming BBC documentary “And Did Those Feet… with Alan Partridge.”

Filming has officially commenced on the show, in which comedian Steve Coogan (who was twice nominated for Oscars his work on 2013 comedy-drama “Philomena”) reprises his role as the hapless interviewer.

The six-part mockumentary follows Partridge as he returns to Norfolk following a year in Saudi Arabia and struggles to reintegrate.

“One of the first – if not the first – documentary to address the issue of mental wellness, the six-part series follows the revered and beloved broadcaster on a quest to understand what’s going on, with Britain’s minds and his own,” reads the official logline. “It’s a show that makes a statement that will create shockwaves: ‘I’m Alan Partridge, and I’m not OK.’ Partridge will write, present and produce the series. He will also direct the series.”

In the first image from the production, which kicked off on May 13 in the South England, he can be seen holding forth on what appears to be a farm, clad in wellies (rain boots) with a serious express on his face.

The BBC have not yet confirmed when the series will air in the U.K.

In a statement, Partridge said: “I’m delighted to follow the Daily Mail’s exclusive coverage of filming and their gallery of paparazzi-style images with my own press release more or less confirming the details they’ve announced. All best, Alan.”

A tactless and pompous broadcaster, Alan Partridge has become one of the U.K.’s most enduring satirical characters since debuting in 1991 as the brainchild of Coogan and “Veep” creator Armando Iannucci.

“And Did Those Feet… with Alan Partridge” is produced by Coogan’s production company Baby Cow production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Coogan has written the show alongside Neil and Rob Gibbons, who also direct. Joe Fraser produces. Exec producers are Coogan, Neil and Rob Gibbons, Rupert Majendie and Sarah Monteith. BBC’s director of comedy Jon Petrie ordered the series.

Baby Cow is owned by BBC Studios, who will distribute the series globally.
