The Sherlock Holmes-inspired CBS medical drama “Watson” has added Peter Mark Kendall and Ritchie Coster to its cast, PvNew has learned exclusively.
The pair join previously announced series lead Morris Chestnut in the show, which was picked up in January. The official description of the series states it takes place a year after the death of Sherlock Holmes at the hands of Moriarty. As the series begins, “Dr. John Watson (Chestnut) resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Watson’s old life isn’t done with him, though – Moriarty and Watson are set to write their own chapter of a story that has fascinated audiences for more than a century.”
Kendall will star as twins Dr. Stephens Croft and Dr. Adam Croft. The description of the characters states:
Popular on PvNew
“Hailing from a privileged family in Pennsylvania, the Croft brothers are twins whose differences have been shaped by and because of each other. Stephens excelled in academics, graduating top of his class at Johns Hopkins Med, specializing in infectious diseases, while Adam excelled in athletics, until an injury led him to functional medicine at Boston University. Stephens is deeply independent and emotionally unavailable due to his workaholism, while Adam is endlessly charming, empathetic, and at his worst, needy. Despite their differences, and Stephens’ attempt to carve out his own path apart from his brother, the twins end up working side-by-side in the Holmes Clinic.”
Coster, meanwhile, will play Shinwell Johnson. He is described as “A reformed man, thanks to Sherlock Holmes, Shinwell has traveled back across the pond to serve alongside Dr. Watson as an Administrative Aide for the new clinic. Thanks to his seedier days, Shinwell has insights and connections that the rest of the team wouldn’t otherwise have access to, and when push comes to shove, his ‘coercive tactics’ and brooding physical presence are very valuable assets. As long as he’s on Watson’s side we have nothing to fear. But are his loyalties unwavering? Or is there a game afoot?”
In addition to his career on the stage, Kendall recently starred in the Netflix series “Kaleidoscope” and has previously been seen in shows like “Strange Angel,” “Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens,” and “Chicago Med.” He has also been in films like “Top Gun: Maverick” and “The Scottish Play.”
He is repped by Gersh, AC Management, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Coster is also an accomplished stage actor. He has recently been seen in shows like “Tulsa King” on Paramount+, “The Flight Attendant” at Max, and “The Walking Dead” at AMC. He has appeared in films such as “Creed,” “American Gangster,” “The Dark Knight,” and “The Sentinel.”
He is repped by Gersh and GDArts Management.
